I slammed down on the gas pedal just in time and narrowly missed him. I immediately put the car in reverse and drove backwards down the street. I know I was being selfish, but I couldn't do it. I wasn't ready to talk or forgive him yet. I needed some time to think and somewhere where I could be myself. I thought of the perfect place. I parked in the parking lot and walked into the library. For some people the library is boring but for me it's perfect. I like to just curl up in one of their comfortable chairs and read a good book. I started to scan the shelves when I found one the books that Josh had recommended it was called Divergent. I had heard other people talking about it but had never gotten around to reading it myself. I started the book and was completely zoned out of the world. As I turned the last page of the book I knew I had to read the next one. I searched the shelves but couldn't find it anywhere. I walked up to the librarian. She was the stereotypical librarian. She looked about sixty with gray hair, way too much makeup and glasses on the brim of her nose.

"Hi I was just wondering if you had the book Insurgent by Veronica Roth." I said standing in front of her desk. She looked up from her computer and gave me a bit of an evil look.

"Let me check." She said typing quickly on her computer. "The book is currently out, but I can put it on reserve, so that when it comes in you will get a call and you can pick it up."

"Okay thanks."

"I'll just need your name."

"Morgan Goldford." I said proudly. I took out so many books that some of the librarians recognized my name.

"Okay thank you. That'll be all." I walked away and out of the library. It was dark and I suddenly wondered how long I had been there. I went to check my phone but remembered that it was in my car because it would disturb my reading. I got to my car and checked my phone. I  had been there for five hours. I had gotten lost in the beautiful plot. I had about five messages from Cole with him freaking out over where I was. I texted him to make sure Dalton wasn't at his house. I almost immediately got a response insisting that he had gone home. I began the short drive to his house. As I got out of my car at his house, he ran down the driveway and gave me a hug. I stood there stiffly not quite sure why he was hugging me.

"Um, Cole are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'm not sure why I'm hugging you I think it's because of what you've been through." He sounded so sweet I had to hug him back.

"Thanks Cole. For everything. I think tonight might be the last night I'm going to stay at your house though. It's time for me to go home."

"I understand, but I hope you realize you're welcome as long as you need somewhere to stay."

"Okay, Cole I think we should go in the house though."

"I guess so. Did you get some stuff?" He asked.

"Yeah, my bag is in the back seat." He opened my back door grabbed my bag and began to walk towards his house. I had no choice but to follow him. We spent the rest of the night watching Netflix and talking about random stuff. He kept my mind from Dalton and I was grateful. We ended up going to bed at around midnight.

I woke up to silence. I walked down the stairs and found Cole sitting at the table reading a book.

"Hey, morning." He said when he saw me walk in.

"Did you eat yet?" I asked sitting across from him.

"Not yet, but I was just going to finish this chapter then eat something."

"Well then, finish your chapter and get ready because I'm taking you to breakfast to say thanks."

"You don't have to- " I cut him off.

"Yes, I do. You've so nice to me and I need to repay you so don't try to back out I'm going to get ready." I said running up the stairs before he could say anything. I changed into my romper and took my time doing my hair. I applied some makeup and went down the stairs to make sure Cole was getting ready. I found him in front of the hall mirror fixing his hair. The sight made me laugh.

"Come on let's go." I said throwing on my flip flops and walking out the door towards my car. I got in and Cole got in a couple seconds later.

"Just take me to Starbucks because I refuse to let you pay for anything more than a coffee and like a muffin." I rolled my eyes and started to drive.

"Fine." I drove to the closest Starbucks and we walked in. Cole ordered first.

"Hi, I'll have a vanilla bean Frappuccino no whipped cream, grande. " Just the way that he said it made me want to die of laughter.

"Same thing for me." I said. And paid for the drinks while Cole waited for them. I turned around and at first I couldn't see Cole but then I spotted him sitting at a table in the back. I walked over and sat down. We sat there in silence for a minute before Cole started to freak out.

"Oh no." He said.

"What?" I asked looking around.

"My crazy ex just walked in maybe she won't see us. She's the one with the purple hair." I saw her immediately and raised my eyebrows at him as if to say really? He just shrugged and cringed as I saw her see us and start to walk over.

"Oh my god! Cole! It's been so long!  I missed you!" She yelled and pulled up a chair to our table. "Who's this?" She asked as if they were still together.

"This is my girlfriend Morgan."
