I woke up to the sun streaming straight from my bedroom window. It was directly in my face. I checked my clock it was 8:30 in the morning on a sunday. This was extremely early for me. I rubbed my eyes and sat up in bed. I got out from under the covers and immediately froze. I ran to the bathroom and grabbed my robe from the hook.  Once I had my robe on I snuck a look at myself in the mirror. I was not a morning person. My hair was every where and full of knots. I cringed but did nothing about it because my family had seen me look worse. I slowly walked down the stairs glad for the silence. My sister Zoe was probably on her laptop and my brother Ethan would not be up for another hour. I made my way into the kitchen for some food. I found my dad sitting there reading yesterday's paper and my mom sitting next to him reading her book.

"Morning Morgan." said my dad. "We made pancakes earlier they are in the oven."

"Thanks dad." I said as I walked over to the oven. I grabbed a plate from the cupboard and opened the oven the delicious smell of chocolate chip pancakes filled my nose. I plopped two onto my plate. I placed the plate back on the counter and went to the fridge. I pulled the syrup and the juice out. I then smothered my pancakes in syrup. I poured myself a glass of orange juice and brought my plate and glass to the couch. I turned on the television and started flicking through the bad early morning tv shows. I could not find anything good so I just truned off the tv and grabbed my headphones. I plugged them into my Ipod and set it to shuffle. I sat there for twenty minutes just listening to music. I turned off my music when my brother came crashing down the stairs.

"Morgan! Your phone is blaring it will not shut up! Please go answer it!" Yelled Ethan. I casually got up to slowly make my way up the stairs. Then I remembered about Dalton. I bolted up the stairs at top speed. When I got there it was only a call from Savannah.

"Hey girl, what's up?" I asked when I picked up the phone.

" Nothing really I just had a question for the math final." She said.

"We had that a week ago!" I said

"I know but I'm really nervous about my mark. How do you think I did?"

"I think your mark is probably somewhere in the high eighties." I said trying to reassure her.

"Thanks Morgan I really have to go now though because my mom is making me do the dishes."

"Okay bye! Love ya!" I yelled as she hung up. My clock said it was 9:00 so I figured it was time to get dressed. I opened my closet and pulled out my my brand new green sundress. I changed quickly then made my way to my mirror. I applied two layers of mascara and decided that it was enough. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup. I grabbed my hair brush and started to brush out my tangled strawberry blonde hair. It took about five minutes to do because of all the knots. When I was finished I grabbed a white cardigan from my closet and skipped cheerfully down the stairs. I got to the bottom of the stairs and sat on the ground.

"What are you doing?" Asked Ethan.

"I have no idea. I'm so bored Savannah is washing dishes and with her family it will probably take like an hour." I said.

"Go call Maya she called yesterday." He said rolling his eyes. I jumped up and ran to the house phone. Sure enough there was a message from her. It was her asking about us chilling at the mall today. Even though I had been to the mall yesterday I was willing to go again. I could never get enough of shopping. I called her back immediatly.

"Hey Morgan! What's up?" She asked in a very cheerful voice.

"Nothing really I got your message. Do you still want to go to the mall?" I asked praying that she did so that I could escape this boring house.

"Of course! When do I ever turn down the chance to hang out with my friends at the mall?"

"Okay great, want to bus? Because my parents are still in their pajamas."

"Mine too." She said. "Okay meet me at the bus stop in five."

"Okay great I'll see you there." I hung up the phone and ran to my room for the second time that morning. I grabbed my purple wallet and shoved it into my black bow purse. I placed my purse on my shoulder and casually walked down the stairs. I grabbed my black high tops and tied them on my feet.

"Bye mom! Bye dad! i'm going to the mall with Maya!"

"Bye have fun sweetie!" Yelled my mom from the kitchen. I opened the dor to the bright summer day. I slammed it closed and ran to the bus stop realizing that I was going to be late. I got to the bus stop at the same time as Maya.

"Hey." I said as I sat down on the hot bench.

"Hi! I checked the bus times and a bus should be here any minute." She replied.

"Alright, so what's new with you?" I asked.

"Nothing much. How about you, anything interesting happen recently?"

"Well, yesterday, I met this really nice guy walking home from the mall."

"Really?! Oh my god! What's his name? What does he look like? Tell me everything!"

"Seriously? Look here comes the bus. I'll tell you on the bus." I said rolling my eyes. As the bus pulled up I grabbed my opus. We walked up the small flight of stairs I swiped my opus and sat down at the closest set of two seats. Maya sat down right next to me.

"Okay, we're on the bus now. Tell me!"

"Okay, his name is Dalton. He has blue-green eyes and blonde hair."

"Ooohhhh he sounds attractive. Tell me how you guys met though."

"I was walking home from the mall when it beagn to rain. So as I walked by the park I saw a guy sitting on the swing all alone. I walked over and we started talking. Since it was raining we ran to my house. I talked to his friend on the phone becaus they were in a fight. But then he had to leave for some reason. We exchanged numbers before he left though he said he wanted to take me to lunch to thank me." I said as the bus pulled up to the mall.

"Wow sounds great." She said as we walked into the air conditioned mall. We began walking around not quite sure where we were going when I got a text from Dalton. The text read "Hey, sorry I won't be able to text you today I'm really busy with work stuff." I quickly responded with "No problem".

"Did he just text you?" Asked Maya excitedly.

"Yeah but he said he's busy with work stuff so he can't text me today."

"Oh that's too bad." She said. "But that gives us time to buy you a new outfit for your date!" I rolled my eyes before responding.

"Okay, but before we go to any stores can we hit the food court? I'm kind of hungry even though I just ate."

"Yeah sure!" We walked to the food court and got in line at the popcorn stand. That was when I saw him. He turned around and looked almost right at me then turned back to the girl he was with and walked away.
