8 - can you keep a secret

Hayes POV
(this continues on from the past chapter)

My whole body tensed at her touch, and I did not like it. "What do y-you mean?" I stuttered out. She smirked at me then slowly got on my lap. "babyboy, I don't play games here" she whispered in my ear.

I tried pushing her off but I fell back and she pinned my hands on the bed. "Please just let me go, I don't like you" I growled at her trying to get out of her strong grip.

"It must be opposite day then" She bit her lip while hovering over me.

Carrie POV

"So do you like him?" My other best friend, Julie, asked me while we were heading out the doors of the school. "I don't know, I think I do. It's just so early to know right now." I told her, kind of lying because I do like Hayes.

"Well I'll see you tomorrow girl" She waved before getting in her mother's car. I got in my jeep and started playing Schemin by the Legacy of New Boyz. (fav song rn) It was a short ride home since the school is only a couple blocks away.

I grabbed my book bag from the passenger seat and walked inside the house. I heard faint whispers from my room so I walked in to see Hayes doing his school. "Hey" I walked over and have him a hug.

"H-hey how w-was school?" He asked me keeping eye contact on the computer. "Good" I replied back, coming out more as a question. "What's wrong?" I asked sitting next to him.

"Nothing just doing some reading for an assignment. I guess I'm just a little stressed." He said showing a smile which was clearly fake. "Oh I'm sorry. Do you want to take a nap or something to relax a little?" I asked him rubbing his back.

"Uh yeah sure" He said closing his laptop then falling in bed. "Hayes are you okay?" I giggled as he was still face down on the bed. "I'm good" His voice muffled through the pillow. I laid down next to him and gave him a kiss on his cheek before leaving him to rest.

I shut the door behind then walked to the kitchen to see Rachel heating up some food. "Hey you feeling better now?" I asked getting my lunch bag out of my book bag. "Oh yeah definitely. It's like someone cured me." She said taking a sip of her drink.

"Well that's good" I showed no emotion since I was still mad at her even if it has been a week since her blowout. "Has Hayes been okay while I've been gone?" I asked her as she looked over at me pressing her lips together.

"Yeah I believe so and oh by the way he said he's going to help pay rent now" She winked before going back into her room.
