Chapter 5: Cassandra

"Mom your just missing one thing though. What ever happened to Cassandra?"  I said puzzled as to why she would leave out such an important detail. "Did she join the bad people?"

"Oh right! Since she was a royal, and royals have the strongest magic, they took her as a small child. She was only 3 months old and never really got to know her mom and dad. They figured if they raised her to be evil like then they could do anything with her powers and she would never know she used to be good because she wouldn't remember." She said.

"Oh well that's just terrible. She got kidnapped AND she was forced to grow up and be evil. But if she went with them then how did she get out into the human world?" I questioned.

"Well that's a tricky subject.." Mom began. " A lot of people say that they're planning to take over the human world, enslave them like pets and make them serve them. It's kind of like a zoo."

I gasped, "That's horrible!!"

"Yes it is and that's why we need to start training you soon" she began.

"You see there's a prophecy. It states that one girl with powerful magic shall come and save us all then rule the kingdom. Hope will come once again and the ruler will be kind and true. Better than anyone we've seen in years. It also states that we shall know her we she comes. People feel the magic radiating off of you when you enter a room. You are the one the prophecy is talking about."

I took in all this information.

In just one day I was told I was destined to be a queen and I was part of a prophecy.

This was absolutely crazy!!

But still I was ready. My whole life I've longed and longed to have magic and this was all I ever cared about. Besides my studies of course.

But this felt...natural.

Like I've been waiting for it...missing it!

As much as I'll miss my friends and my life at school, this was where I belong. With my people, ruling a land.

"I'm ready mom..." I said unsure.

"Thank you for being so accepting of this" she began to get a little ready eyed. "I've been dreading this day since you were a child. I knew this was going to happen but I wasn't ready for it yet. This is all so sudden for me too. One day my biggest worry is about you getting a boy friend and the next day my husband is dead and my little girl has to go off to an academy to learn magic. But still it's your destiny. We shall be packing your belongings and arriving at the school tomorrow. As your father mentioned in the will, it will be as if you never left school. You see there's this spell called an illusion that can make a clone of you. Looks like you talks like you acts like you but never interferes with your life directly. You shall never cross paths so it's safe. I hope this isn't too much at once."

I took a deep breath in and out. "No mom. I'm fine. Don't worry about me I feel like this is the real me.." I said reassuringly. "I'm definitely ready"

Wow that was quite a lot. Are you guys ready for what happens next? I sure am. Sorry I haven't posted in a while I've had one heck of a writers block. I think I'm missing a little something. It's supposed to really grab your attention right...? But it's missing that sort of....SHAZAM! Tell me what you think in the comments!
