Chapter 3: The will

Phew these things take forever to make 😰😰

I woke up to the sounds of birds chirping and lots of sunshine. I hadn't had any night terrors so I felt new and refreshed.

Today was the reading of dad's will.

Mom told me that we were in his will so they were the only ones to be attending. She wasn't up yet so I showered and threw on some jeans and a purple t-shirt then went downstairs to go make breakfast for her and her mom.

I made waffles and oatmeal with fresh berries on the top. I put mom's food in the microwave and turned on the t.v in the kitchen then sat and eat her breakfast while quietly watching some Sunday morning cartoons.

After I was done I went upstairs to browse the Internet a little. I started daydreaming about what could possibly be in store for me at the reading. Maybe money, jewelry, or even a house.!Then I heard mom heating up her food from downstairs and went to go check on her.

"Well you're sure up early!" mom commented chuckling a bit.

"Yeah the early bird does get the worm!" I said back while laughing softly and scratching the back of my head gently.

I've always had a bad habit of doing that.

Mom sat down at the counter and flipped the t.v to the news. I questioned her about when they were going to leave and she mom said in about 15 minutes. Sure enough in 15 minutes we were out of the door and off to the lawyers office.

At the office we were greeted by a young man in his early 30's at least. He asked our names and introduced himself as Charlie. Then he told us to get comfy because he was going to be reading the will to us very shortly. He went into a different room and came back with a long piece of paper and began to recite the will. 

To my dearest Violet and Charlotte,
If you are reading this that means she got me. I know, you have lots of questions. Who is she? What does she want from me? How did she get me? I promise all of these questions will be answered don't worry. Violet you must miss me very much but you have already met this person. Her name is Cassandra. She has red hair with yellow tips at the end. You two must say nothing to the police and most certainly not any secret service members or anyone for that matter. I have a big secret that you both will find out soon but I cannot put it in this will because it is far too dangerous. Violet, my lovely daughter, you may have a locket I got while traveling to Japan. It has ancient magic in it from ancestors in it. When the time comes,  and it will, your own magic mixed with your ancestors will make you powerful enough to kill any enemy that comes your way. I have enrolled you in an academy so that you can learn how to call forth and control your powers. For you, my lovely wife Charlotte, you shall send Violet to the school I have enrolled her in. Do not worry. It is a boarding school but they get to visit ever semester. We have talked about this already and Violet I expect you to behave well at school as always. You will not have ordinary classes such as Math, Science, Social Studies, so on so forth. The Headmaster will give you your schedule as soon as you get to school. I wish you all the best.

I was very confused but when I looked up at my mom she has a morbid look on her face. As if she knew this was going to happen soon. I looked up at Charlie and he held out a small box for me to take. In the box was a beautiful silver, small heart shaped locket. I took it out a placed it around my neck. After Charlie said a few more words me and my mom silently drove back to our house.

Wow!!! Who would have known that there was only a locket in the will? Who is this new character Cassandra?? How is Violet going to take to being in a new school where she only learns about her powers?? Better yet, what will happen next?

Also sorry I've been gone for so long I started a new year and school got in the way 😁😁. I will TRY me best to post often.
