The boy had looked at her in the corridor. Presumably he'd learnt about her position as school Matchmaker. Maybe he'd come to her himself, asking to be paired up with someone.
Maja still doesn't know how she'd feel if he asked to be matched. She'd probably be happy, on one hand, because it would lead her to stop thinking about him. On the other hand, she might be upset because it means that she officially has no chances.
But she might also make rash decisions: stupid, small things which would stick out. She might even try to match herself instead of concentrating on the rightful match: and that wouldn't do.
Not that she ever had any.

Paula and Isaac were now dating. He'd asked her out over the phone and they were together. Maja could now tick them off her list of Matches and let them take control.
She'd give them about four or five weeks together, based on how compatible she saw they were. They were okay together, but they inevitably self-destruct, like most of the Matches before them.
