Chapter 7: The Hotel POV- Kara

Our plane landed in New York twenty minutes later near a hotel. "Is this where we're staying?" I asked. The hotel was majestic- no kidding. It certainly didn't belong next to the run-down parking garage that looked old and plain next to it.

"Yep," answered Jennifer with a wink. "My job and the competition people paid for this sucker," she explained, gesturing to the hotel building. Jennifer and Bridget were the oldest out of all of us by five months, but all of us were 16 years old and could drive, well... except Bridget. Maybe Bridget should try her driving test a second time- I think Jennifer is slowly going crazy having to drive Bridget everywhere (mostly school). It's not that Bridget is annoying on purpose, but she can be a little "over-the-top" sometimes.

At last, we hauled our suitcases up the steps to the hotel and opened one of the double doors leading into the lobby. The boy at the counter looked a bit like Louis Tomlinson, except that he wasn't wearing stripes. Kevin is name tag read. I snuck a quick picture of him with my phone because it was funny that he looked like Louis and his name was Kevin. He didn't seem to notice my snapshot taking, but I still put my phone away quickly. I didn't want to look like some creepy stalker. Kevin looked at us and asked, "Hello everyone, last name?"

"Salone," Jennifer answered.

"Room 64, floor 2," Kevin said, fishing around in a drawer and handing Jennifer our room card key. Jennifer thanked Kevin and we made our way to the elevator down the hall. Madison pressed the up button, and the doors opened.

After we arrived on floor 2, we trudged on until we found room 64. Jennifer slid the card into the slot by the handle and the door opened with a click. The room was amazing. It had four queen beds and three chandeliers. It only had three rooms- a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, but all of them were tidy. After we unpacked everything and shoved it into drawers across from the beds. It was now about 10 at night. I sighed and flopped down onto one of the made beds. Then, we all changed into our pjs, all wearing an oversized top and sweats. Abbie and I both had cat shirts on because we were both cat lovers. Madison was too, but she didn't have a cat because her dad was allergic to cats. Madison loved to hang out at Abbie's house because she liked to play with Sparrow, Abbie's cat. I got jolted form my thoughts as Madison squealed.

"Oh my god! They gave us free stuff!" I rushed over to where her voice came from, which was the bathroom. She held up a little basket of goodies above her head.

"That's cool, Madison, but they do that in every hotel," I said, peeking into the basket that was now set beside the sink.

"Well that makes sense," Madison said. "I've never been in a hotel before."

I was shocked. She had never been in a hotel? "Well, what about the beach? You go there for a week. What do you do, sleep in the car?" I asked.

"No, I have an uncle that owns a townhouse down there," she answered.

"Oh."

"C'mon everyone!" Bridget shouted from the bedroom. "I'm tired, Jenn's already asleep, and we need our rest!" she said, ushering us from the bathroom to our beds.
