Chapter9: Midnight Snack POV- Niall

I woke up when it was really dark. I squinted at the alarm clock, which read 3:01am. The first thought was that I was hungry. I looked at the rest of the boys, sleeping in their own bed. It was pretty dark, but I think I could see the figures, all in bed. As I walked past Harry’s bed, towards the kitchen, I realized that there wasn’t a lump under the covers. I threw back the sheets; he wasn’t there! I grabbed a shirt and my phone from my side table, plus a key card from the kitchen counter on my way out the door. I was going to search for Harry Styles. “I hope I don’t find his corpse from the crowds of girls trampling over him,” I joked to myself. I took in a deep breath and closed the door behind me.

I was on the second floor, walking casually down the hall when I swore I heard Harry’s voice coming from behind one of the hotel doors. I checked my watch. 3:42 am. I pressed my head to the door, which said Room 64 above it. Yep, definitely Harry’s voice. He was laughing, and then I heard a mumble of a grumpy girl. Then, “Jennifer!” from another girl. I rolled my eyes. Typical Harry. Wanting to get to meet girls he bumped into in the hall of something. They sounded fine, but just to check on Harry, I knocked on the door. A few seconds later, the door opened and something black flew at me. Next thing I knew, I was swallowed up into complete and utter darkness.

I groan as I hold my head. Everything is fuzzy looking. There is a curly browned-haired girl who is probably in high school standing above me with a hand covering her mouth. Where was I? Oh yeah, I was finding Harry. I sat up, and everything becomes clear.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry, Niall! I didn’t know- I thought you were some creepy stalker. That’s why I hit you with a frying pan,” the girl said. “Oh my gosh, you’re bleeding! Here, I think you need some-”

She said a bunch of medicines that I didn’t recognize by their names. “Ok, we need to get to the emergency kit,” she said, practically dragging me down the hall to the bathroom. “Ok,” she said, sitting me down on the edge of the tub. I stayed still (and winced once in a while because it HURT!) while she dabbed at my head with a cotton ball and all these bottles of stuff from the cabinet above the sink. I hope she knows what she’s doing. I only just met her, like 5 minutes ago when she bombarded me with a frying pan. I still didn’t know her name!

I didn’t trust her much, although she seems nice. Any minute she could fangirl on me and rip out my hair and try to sell it on eBay. I shivered at the thought. “Finished! Oh my gosh! Did I hurt you?” she asked, seeing me shiver.

“Great question. Yes. I now have a knot on my head now,” I grumbled.

“Sorry. That’s not what I meant- I should’ve never asked,” she said, slumping to the floor like a deflated balloon.

“Naw, that’s okay. By the way, what’s your name?”

“Oh, I’m Kara Diana Smith, a nurse in training. That’s why I knew how to bandage your head,” Kara explained, patting my head softly, so it wouldn’t hurt.

“Well, thank you, Kara-” I liked that name, “-and do you know what time it is?”

“Oh no! Don’t you remember? Do you have a concussion? Ohmygod this is bad!” Kara was running around the bathroom like her bum was on fire. I was going to correct her- say I knew and I didn’t have a concussion, but I thought, hey. Why don’t I have a little fun and see how much she knows about me.

“Now that I think about it, I can’t remember everything. What’s my name? Age? Favorite restaurant?” I said, putting on my best puzzled voice.

“Your name is Niall James Horan, you are 19 years old, your favorite restaurant is Nando’s, you don’t have a girlfriend-” Kara stopped running around and blushed. “Why did I say that?” I could tell that she was mentally slapping herself. “Why did I say that?”

I grinned. That girl is so cute.

“Um, never mind. You want to go to Nando’s? You must be hungry,” she said. “Because I am!”

I smiled. “Sure, but what time is it? I don’t think Nando’s is open at four in the morning. Plus, I was just kidding about memory loss,” I answered.

“Oh, I know. You were out for a while, plus bandaging your head took time. It’s 5:58.”

I could hear her stomach growling. “When did you eat last?”

“I didn’t have lunch or dinner. Well, if five chicken nuggets count as lunch, then dinner,” Kara said.

“You didn’t have dinner? No wonder you’re hungry! My stomach wouldn’t be happy if I didn’t have dinner,” I said, patting my now grumbling belly.

She laughed. “You’re different. My belly shouldn’t be hungry. It’s fat,” she stated, patting her stomach.

“Stop it. I hate it when girls say that they’re fat. Everyone that put themselves down don’t understand that they’re beautiful for who they are,” I said, looking straight into her green eyes. “Please don’t say that. You’re not fat.”

Silence.

“oh-oh kay.”

Silence.

“Well, we should be going to Nando’s, right?” I said cheerfully.

“Yep. I hope they’re open!” Kara grinned.

I took out my phone. “I’ll text everyone to let them know where we’re going,” I said, “Nando’s is only just across the street.”

Kara nudged me playfully. “I could eat a horse.”

“I could eat a giant,” I shot back, raising an eyebrow.

“Giants aren’t real!”

“Oh yes they are.”

“Whatever, you win,” Kara rolled her eyes.

“Don’t you want to go to Nando’s? They might serve horses,” I said teasingly.

“Yeah, sure. Let’s go,” she said, pulling me off of the tub, where I was still sitting.

Hello everyone! Just saying that when I wrote this fan fiction, Niall was 19, so don’t say I got the facts wrong, it was just he wasn’t 20 when I wrote it, AND he also wasn’t dating Barbara Palvin. So, yeah. Thanks for reading! :)
