disbelief is an emotion, right?Wyn looked at Sincere, his eyes trained her almost perfect face. He hated when she looked worried like that. "So they're not giving you any type of bail or anything?" She asked.
"Well they are but it's going to be $400,000 and I don't know anybody with that kind of money even after you take the ten percent out." He explained, talking with his hands as he had began making a habit out of.
Sincere sighed. Through it all she had been here by his side; visiting, calling, all the things he expected from Taylor. Taylor stayed in contact every now and again but it was no secret that he had been the last thing on her mind. Sincere informed him about everything that was going on at home- including Taylor's pregnancy. The words that slipped off her tongue that day were like daggers piercing through his heart. Every time he thought about it he got pissed all over again.
However, he couldn't get too upset because Sin was just as pregnant as her. One night stands never ended up so lethal. Though he never told Sin, he regretted not wearing a condom. Nonetheless he was going to be as close as he could to help but even a fool knew that he wouldn't be in that kid's life. Not from behind bars. Sincere knew that too but she was still going to try.
She and Wyn had developed a chemistry she had never known. Maybe it was his words but she really was down for the ride with him.
"Look, $40,000... I can try to make-"
"I already told you I didn't want you back in that club, yo. Kayo and Slug some fucking snakes and I don't trust em." Wyn spat, his face hot from being so pissed.
"They're in here more than me. How could you say that?" Sincere asked, looking at him confusedly.
Wyn rolled his eyes. "It's all for show. That's why they go back and dickslap with that nigga Roman. They all buddy buddy now, ain't that what you said?" He asked, gesturing towards her. Sincere frowned.
"Anyway... speaking of Roman-"
"I don't wanna hear nothing about that bitch." He shook his head but Sin put her hand up.
"It's not about him entirely. It's about Taylor. She was shot and she's in the hospital now, she lost the baby." Sincere spoke up, looking at his cold face for a reaction.
Deep down, Sincere always knew that he cared for her but since he got in here he had been heartless to the thought of her. Was this all a big front or not? Sin couldn't answer the question because his face was washed of all emotions.
"Good." He finally said before looking in another direction.
Sincere frowned. She didn't want them to be together but she didn't want him to hate her, after all Taylor was like Sincere's only friend now.
"Inmate. Time's up, let's go." The guard standing behind the door behind him yelled out as he started to get closer.
Sincere's frown deepened. "Alright, call me when you can." She said looking at him.
He nodded before licking his lips and getting up, giving Sin another look at his blue jumpsuit. Once he was gone, Sincere got up. She had been sitting there thinking about his reply to what she had said before coming back to earth. Maybe this was just the way it was.
She grabbed her jacket hanging loosely on the bench she was sitting on before walking out.
Once outside, she looked towards the car where Caz was leaning. She walked to him and smiled. "Hey baby."
"How'd it go?" He asked, returning the smile before opening the door for her.
She sighed deeply. "He basically gave up. Like you said." She said with a laugh.
Though Sincere liked Wyn, her heart belonged to Caz. It had for a few years now and she couldn't throw that all away for a little fling and spark. Could she?
She buckled in and stared outside at the bricked building, her mind on Wyn. She wish she hadn't set him up like that.
"You hungry?" Caz asked as he passed her a bag of McDonalds.
Sincere flipped her hair back before reaching under her shirt and ripping the fake belly from underneath, throwing it in the back. "Thank you baby." She said as she grabbed it.
He looked in the back seat and frowned. "What I tell you about that shit, Sincere?" He asked, pointing back with his thumb.
She rolled her eyes.
Sin had met Caz about 12 years ago at a party down in Atlanta, where she and her mother had been staying for a few months prior. She hadn't had any friends other than Roni and she only got invited because Roni was fucking the host. As soon as she laid eyes on him, he was damn near hers. He had told her about his past; what he did for a living, his family, and his ex wife Doreen- who was cheating on him with another man and shot in his bed with the man beside her. Sin pitied him, she thought her life was fucked up and she was wrong.
Now, Caz is the closest thing to a man and best friend she'd ever get to.
"You hear me talking to your fucking ass?" He asked as she drove threw the green light.
"No." Sin remarked, stuffing fries down her throat.
"See, this what I be talking about. You on that bullshit, man." He said as Sin reached to turn the music up. "For real?"
She nodded her head to the beat and smashed on some more fries.
"Oh yeah?" He yelled over the music.
When she didn't reply he snatched the bag and threw it out the window. Horns blaring could be heard in the back but Caz didn't care, he just kept driving.
"You serious right now?" She asked.
"Oh, you hear me now?" He asked before turning the music up even higher. "We'll talk when we're home."
