wished away

Roman smiled down at his mother, her hand in his as he gave her a peck on the cheek. "I will forever take care of you. You know that." He told her.

She sighed, looking away.

There was so much he didn't know about himself. But the same went for her, there was so much she didn't know about him either. Truth would all come to light soon and though he wouldn't wish it on his worse enemy, the way it would be found out was dangerous.

"Are you good, ma?" He asked, pushing his smile back as he stared at the side of his face. "Mom, look at me."

She turned and looked at him slowly. "Baby I.." Her trembling voice trailed off.

He looked at her, he was confused. "Say it."

"You've done so much these past years... I've seen you do things I would've never thought I'd witness. I love you, son. You're getting older and I need you to get stronger. Me and your father, we've went down this road before. Please. For the sake of your future with anyone... stop making poor choices and do what's good for your future seeds or it'll just catch up to you." She said, tears trailing down her cheek.

What she meant by it all Roman would never know because she had passed away only moments afterwards.

It was after that conversation that he started taking his craft into his consideration a little more seriously. He wanted to make his mother proud regardless of the fact that his father might not have been.

Roman didn't know a lot about the past but he knew it didn't steer far from the path Roman was headed down.

"What's on your mind?" Taylor asked as she woke up from a long sleep, squeezing his hand.

His eyes trailed to her slowly. He wanted to speak but he really didn't want to have a real conversation with her after the scene she had made with Glynn the day before.

"You still mad at me?" She asked, frowning.

He continued to stay silent. "You still love him?" He asked.

Taylor stared at him not sure how to answer. Truth was, she did love Wyn. She always would. Though he completely ruined her life and turned her into a person she no longer knew or even liked, she would always love him because he was her first love. However, she loved Roman more. Way more than she would ever love a Wyn and she'd be damn if she let him fuck up shit with Roman again.

Yesterday, her deep feelings had got the better of her. Hearing Wyn's name come out of Glynn's mouth regarding an unknown child was beyond disrespectful. The argument only spiraled out of control from there.

"Ooooou bitch, I just wanna drag your sorry ass right now!" Taylor yelled from the bed.

"It's not even that serious. You were with this nigga when it happened!" Glynn defended herself.

"I vented to you! You fucking hoe!" Taylor retorted, screaming loudly.

Glynn stared at her before looking at her son. It was embarrassing and just a mess. She wanted to get as far as she could from this situation before even more words were swapped. "I'm sorry, Taylor." Glynn spoke softly.
