It was 7:56 am and I was waiting for Amber to pick me up. I texted Hayley to let her know that I flew across the country safely. Pretty sure she won't reply my text, she's probably sleeping. My phone vibrated and it was Amber.

Amber: I'm right here. Where are you?

I picked up my carry on bag and my suitcase and look for Amber's car. As soon as I see her, I tap on the passengers window and smiled. She got out of the car and smiled back at me. ''Hey!'' she gave a hug. ''I missed you.''

''I missed you too Amber.''

She broke away from the hug, opened the trunk of the car and helped me put the bags in. She closes the trunk and we out into the car. ''So how was California?''Amber said as she drove to the exit.

''It was awesome. We went to the beach, we took a tour around Hollywood, we went to Disneyland.''

''I know, I saw it on snapchat.'' she laughed.

''It was the best two weeks of my life. I even met Hayley's friends.''

''What about her ex?''

I rolled my eyes. ''Hate her. Every time she was there, she would try to trick us to break us up, but we're still together bitch.'' I laughed and so did Amber.

''Well I'm glad you had a better summer than me.''

I raised my eyebrows. ''What do you mean a better summer than you?'' I said confused. Amber and I talked practically everyday while I was in California and she'd tell me that everything was fine.

''Rick and I broke up.''

''What?'' I said in shock. They had been together for three years! I couldn't believe it.

''Yeah.'' she nodded. ''You know that he was born and raised in a military based family. His grandfather, his dad and uncle, were all in the military.''

''Yeah.'' I nodded.

''Rick always told me that he wanted to follow in their footsteps, until his dad died, he stopped talking about it.''

''Yeah I remember. He barely talked at all when it happened.''

She stops at a red light. ''I thought that meant that he didn't want to be in the military anymore and I was a little relieved.''

''So what happened?''

The light changes and Amber continues driving. ''He called me one day and told me that he planned to go to boot camp for military training.'' she takes a deep breath. ''We got into an argument because I didn't want him to go, and so... We broke up.''

''I'm sorry to hear that, but is there anything you can do to fix this?''

''The only way I can to fix this is to support him, but I can't.'' she continues to drive, looking more upset then ever. She stops at another red light and looks back at me. ''Are you hungry?''

''Yeah.'' I nodded. ''I haven't eaten breakfast yet.''

''Alright then let's go to Denny's.'' She takes a left turn, we pass the flea markets and the fast food restaurants until we parked in front of Denny's.
