CHAPTER TWELVE
Wow. This feels refreshing. The last time I went in a carnival was when we were still living in Japan. Maybe I should stroll a little before going home.
I was buying a cotton candy, I saw some little boys bullying another kid. I was about to stop the ruckus when a cute little girl butt in. "Hey! What do you think you’re doing?! Get away from my best friend!" she demanded in her scary but cute little voice. I smiled because I can see myself in her. Woah, wait a second. Did I just say I can see myself in her? What was that? Where did that come from? Then I suddenly felt dizzy and my vision became blurry. Before I fell, someone grabbe me in my arms. "Are you okay?" he asks. I thanked him and he gave me warm smile. He looked deeply in my eyes while I also looked deeply in his. Now, we're having a staring contest. He cleared his throat and spoke "You look familiar. Have we met before?" I frowned and said, "I don't think so. But, I think it's better if you can now let go of me." I said sarcastically. "Thank you for catching me by the way." I said a little embarrassed. He shooked his head and chuckled. "No problem. I'm also sorry 'cause I thought you were her. You look just like her without glasses and braces that's why. But your personality is the opposite in hers." he smiled at me calmly. I don't know if that's a compliment or insult. One thing is for sure, I want to smash this cotton candy cart into his face.
"Hey, I heard that you skipped school today? What's the matter? Our straight A student Aaliyah Matsumoto skipped school without any reasons, huh?" Chloe said wiggling her eyes brows at me. I gave her my signature death glare look 'cause she knew that I hate seeing people wiggling their eyebrows at me. "So. . . whaddya wanna do today?" I suddenly hug her and she hugs me back. This is one of the reasons why I love my best friend. She won't force me to tell her what I have in my mind. Instead, she'll give me time to think and wait until I'm ready to tell her what's wrong. "Okay, okay, this is enough. Get your ass here and let's start." she said playfully after spanking my butt. "Hey, that hurts!" I yelled.

"Aachan!"
"Are you okay?"
"I found her."
"Miss, hang on!"
"She's the girl I've been looking."
"I like-"
"BEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!"
I suddenly jerk up and breathe heavily. I'm sweating that my pillow got wet. I looked at my clock, it's 6 am in the morning. I was about to go back to bed (since it's Saturday today) when I heard a small knock. It's my mom. "Hey, sweetheart. Are you okay? I brought you your medicine." I looked at her and hugged her tight. "Mom, I miss you." I mumbled. "Thank you for everything. I love you so much mom." she chuckled and ruffled my bangs. "Okay, let's now stop the drama young lady."
I was up with my usual routine, dress up and brush my teeth. Every weekend I took Jag and Joy, my Siberian husky and Weimaraner dog to a walk. We rest for a while in the park when my phone rang. I didn't look at the caller's name so I answered it without hesitation.
Jeno: Hel-
*Call Ended*
I press the end call button when I heard his voice. I don't want to talk to him right now. I'm piss to him 'cause he's just going to ask me to buy him a coffee. Urgh! I hate him! He's the worst! I leaned my back in the bench and put my right arms in my eyes while my other hand was holding Jag's and Joy's tie. I sighed heavily. When I open my eyes, someone's face is just a mere inches in my face. "What the-?!" I screamed. "Woah, easy! I'm not going to bite you." he smirked. "Don't just pop like a mushroom out of nowhere." I said. "We've met yesterday but we didn't give our greetings to each other. So I'm here to introduce myself. I’m Michael by the way. How about you?" he warmly asked. Wow, he's nice. "Uh. . . well. . . you see. . . I don't give information about me to a total stranger, so I'm sorry. Gotta go. Bye" I waved before running away from him. "Wait. Can I have a small favor? Please?" he said in a serious tone. Aaliyah no. Say no. Say no. Say n- "What it is?" I said in an annoyed tone. What the heck Aaliyah?! Why didn't you say no?! Urgh! "Could you smile for me? Please?" I laughed at his expression. He pleaded like a five year old kid and it's like he's going to cry.
He looked at me with a hopeful look so I gave him a warm smile that he badly wants. He smiled and mumbled "She just looks like you. . . I miss her. . ."
~Jeno
"Hel-" What the heck?! Why did she hang up on me?! Urgh! This is so frustrating. I don't know why but I miss teasing her. Her long dark brown hair, her eyes, her lips, the way she looks annoyed whenever I tease her, the- "Wait a minute. What am I thinking!? It's impossible. I won't miss that monster. She's not my type. She's sarcastic and cold. Urgh! Why am I talking to myself?! I'm going crazy!" someone shoved me and said, "Don't say you’re going crazy, 'cause you're already one bro!"
No way. "Michael!" I said. "Long time no see. Jeno." he smiled. He didn't change even one bit. He's still the Michael I used to know. The happy-go-lucky guy. "When did you come back? Already found her, huh?" I asked nudging him. He shrugged and said, "Not yet. But I met someone who looked exactly like her." I was about to ask when he continued, "But, I think it's not her." I looked at him confused. I didn't really get what he just said. "Woah, wait a second man. You met someone who looked exactly like her but you think it's not her? What the hell bro! You should've asked her name so you would know." He laughs and explains it. "You see, they just look exactly alike but their personalities is way big different. Aa-chan is nice, friendly, and a sweet girl while the girl I've met is sarcastic and cold. So, I don't think it's her. And besides, Aa-chan is wearing a glasses and braces, while that girl is. . . you know. . . the pretty type." he chuckled.
We sat down in a bench in silence. He broke the silence and asked me "How about you? Have you found the girl you’ve been searching for?" I looked at him and gave him a small smile. "Nah, maybe it's not yet the time to find her." he laughed so hard so I just go with the flow and laughed with him.
