Every year stood in the great hall.
"I can't believe Dumbledore is letting this nut teach or hold something like this," I said as I looked at Draco.
"You really don't like him do you Sammie," Draco said.
"Absolutely not he's a coward and a fake," I said.
"I've told my father but he blew me off. Told me he had other things to worry about," Draco said rolling his eyes.
"Gather around! Can you all see me? Can you all hear me? Due to recent events, Dumbledore has given me permission to start this dueling club to prepare you all to defend yourselves as I have done many times. Read my stories for more details. Now let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape. He has agreed to help me demonstrate. Don't worry you all will have your Potions Master and Sam you will still have your father when I'm through with him no need to worry. One... two... three..." Lockhart said.
"Expelliarmus," my father said.
Lockhart went flying and I couldn't help but laugh.
"No need to worry we still have a Defense Against The Dark Arts Professor" I laughed.
My father looked at me and my laughter died down.
"Excellent idea to show them that Professor Snape. It was however pretty obvious what you were about to do and if I really wanted to stop you it would have been easy to do so" Lockhart said.
"I bet no since you didn't," I said.
Once again I got a look from my father. I swallowed hard and looked down.
"I think you should teach the students how to block unfriendly spells," my father said.
"Okay let's get a pair up here how about Granger and um..." Lockhart said looking around.
"May I pull someone from my own house Samantha perhaps?" my father said.
"Sure yeah. Miss. Granger and Miss. Snape" Lockhart said.
I smiled and jumped up onto the dueling table.
"Good luck Granger," Lockhart said.
"Thanks," Hermione said as we met in the middle.
"Wands at the ready" Lockhart said.
"Nervous?" I asked.
"Nope," she said.
"Should be I know a few more spells than you" I said.
"We'll see," she said.
"On the count of three cast your charms to disarm and disarm only" Lockhart said.
"Expelliarmus" Hermione shouted.
"Protego," I said reflecting the spell back on Hermione.
Hey, my dad being a teacher has its perks quite a few actually. However, I did say I knew a few more spells than Hermione or the average second-year student. My father taught me the reflection spell a few years ago of course I never had a reason to use it until now.
