I see Mare. She's wearing a beautiful white dress. Her hair is long and thick, curls tamed into a elegant flow. Her lips are red the color of her blood. She's gorgeous but also scary. Because though she never looked prettier, she's never looked more like a silver. Her cheeks are naturally white and for the first time I realize what she's lying in, a coffin.
My heart stops as I search for someone anyone to punish for the tragedy. I see him now Maven. Wearing an all black suit and a red rose pinned to his jacket. Normal funeral wear except for the crown of fire, my crown of fire on his head.
I run at his all the pain going into my fire. It rises at my command fueled by the loss of yet another loved one at his hands. I was about to lay the first flaming punch as I shot up in my bed.
"It was just a dream, calm down she's fine. " I tell myself laying back down but knowing I won't sleep. No one had gone after her because of the impossibility of actually getting her from the palace. As I thought the words a thought came to mind. We don't have to get her from the castle.
I ripped on red pants not bothering with a shirt. I didn't stop until I reached the person I was looking for Farley.
"What are you doing here Cal?" She asked though she could probably guess by the way I looked.
"We don't have to enter the castle." I answered her confused look. "Maven has to travel the kingdom at least ounce a month." I explained "It's one of his kingly duties. " I added under my breath answering another quizzical look. Now I knew we were both on the same page.
"So if we can catch him while he's out with Mare" She started.
"We can get her back."I finished for her.
"Then what are we waiting for. Let's get to work." She screams just as ready for the lightning girl back as I am but for different reasons.
