Liam dear, I have more of your things in the car, if you'd like to come with me and we can get them," Mrs. Payne suggests.

"Of course," Liam agrees with a smile as he and his mom stand up after they all had finished their meals.

"I'll be right back okay baby," he tells Zayn, resting a hand on his cheek before leaving with his mom to go outside, leaving Zayn and mr. Payne alone inside.

"So mom...What do you think of Zayn?" Liam asks curiously as they walk down the sidewalk

"He's very.... Unique;" Mrs. Payne replies with a smile.

"Good unique or....bad unique?" Liam asks worriedly with a laugh.

"I'm not sure yet but I would say good. I honestly didn't know what to make of him at first; He's very reserved. But he seems very sweet and loving," she explains.

"Aw he is!! He's super shy and awkward, but he's soooo adorable and he has the biggest kindest heart and he's so funny too and he does the dumbest things but he always makes me laugh and he's so caring and loving and hes always there to help with anything and he's just.... I just.... We.....Aaaaauuuggg.... I love him so much and I'm so glad you finally got to meet him!!" Liam says as he beams happily with the biggest, squishiest smile.

"One thing I know for sure is he's very handsome," mrs. Payne adds with a grin and Liam laughs and rolls his eyes, brushing it off casually.

"I know... You've told me that like 5 times Mum..." He scoffs with a grin. , unsure what to say.

"He seems very much in love with you too. The whole time you were talking, he never once took his eyes off you. It's like you captivate him," she informs Liam who smiles awkwardly.
If only she knew what Zayn was doing to him under the table that was so "captivating" for him.....

Back inside the restaurant, Zayn sighs softly and glances over at Liam's dad and jumped when he saw the look on his face, and he didn't look very happy which made Zayn a little uneasy tbh.

Unsure what to say, Zayn just glances back down at his now empty plate and sits quietly, just hoping Liam would come back any time now.

It's pretty quiet for a long time and super awkward because Zayn has no idea what to say so he just sits quietly, fiddling with the napkin on his lap.

"So you think you really love my son then?" Mr Payne finally asks, breaking the silence.

"Oh yes. Yes! I love Liam. Zo much. He's just... He's perfect," Zayn answers with a nod and a smile. Mr. Payne nods also then is quiet again, a look of deep concentration on his face.

"I'm gonna say this once... and I'm going to make myself very clear, alright kid? I don't care how much Liam likes you or how much my wife adores you... you're not right for my son," Mr. Payne says firmly.

"But..... I love Liam," Zayn says in confusion.

"He deserves someone better than you," Mr. Payne insists. .

"I'm zorry zir..... but You don't know anything about me," Zayn says as his eyes begin to water up.

Mr. Payne scoffs. "I know enough. And I k ow you are not right for him," He retorts.

"Liam loves me more than he's ever loved anybody else.... and that's all that matters," Zayn says quietly and mr. Payne scoffs quietly.
"Y-You don't have to like me, fine, like... whatever... I'm ztill going to be with Liam whether you fucking like it or not and you can't ztop us because he loves me!
"He's not a fucking child and he can do whatever the fuck he wants! He doesn't have to listen to you!" Zayn says, trying to sound like he doesn't care. But really, It was taking everything in him not to burst into tears at that moment.

"You better watch your mouth boy," Mr. Payne orders. "You don't respect me, how can you respect my son?" He reasons before he stands. up and walks away from the table, leaving Zayn speechless as he sat all by himself.

Zayn quickly wipes away a tear that slipped out of his eye. He knew that Liam and his mom would be back any minute and he didn't want Them to see him crying like this.

"Hey zee!" Liam greets with a smile when they finally returned. "Hey, Where'd my dad go?" He wonders, a few minutes later after Mr. Payne had left the large room.

"He didn't zay," Zayn mumbles quietly. He shrugs his shoulders and looks down at his hands.

"Oh. I'm sure he'll be back in a few minutes," Liam says.

"Yeah. Probably," Zayn agrees. Liam glances down at Zayn with a suspicious look. He could sense something wasn't quite right.

"Alright, well we probably should leave soon. Long drive home and now I have to find your father. God knows where that man ran off to this time," Mrs. Payne says.

"Oh yeah. I hope you find him soon," Liam replies.

"He's probably in the bathroom," Mrs. Payne mutters then laughs.

"Anyway, it was so good to see you again Liam and wonderful to meet you Zayn," she says as she hugs her son again.

"We should do this more often. You should come over some time! Zaynie and I can make you dinner and you can see my home and you can see Watson again!," Liam suggests excitedly as he hugs his mom.

"That would be lovely! We would love to be over for dinner sometime," she agrees with a smile.

"I make a mean grilled cheese zandwich," Zayn comments proudly and they all laugh.

"Good bye Zayn, dear. It was truly a pleasure meeting you," she says and Zayn smiles.

"You too," he agrees, returning the smile as he turns to stand next to Liam again.

"Oh, and Zayn," Mrs. Payne starts. Zayn stops and turns to look at her curiously.

"Take care of Liam. Make sure he doesn't get in any trouble okay?" She says with a joking grin.

"Me?! It's him who needs to be taken care of!" Liam gasps in shock and Zayn laughs.

"I'll take good care of him, Mrs. Payne. Don't you worry," Zayn says as he wraps his arms around Liam's neck and pulls him in close.

"Ow! Zayn!! Stop it! Let me go!" Liam cries as he tries to push him away.

"No Liam. I need to watch you," Zayn says with a grin but let's go of Liam's neck which Liam rubs sorely. They say their good byes again then walk out into the dark to the parking lot.
