And so goes the Journey

With the alarm going off to Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses was one of the better ways to wake up and it's one of Kady's more favored songs so dancing was what felt right at that moment. Head-banging while rocking out was a given and practically demanded of spiritually for a rock and roll child. It would be practically sacrilegious not to so she was doing more justice that anything, right?
She smiled broadly and made her way towards her dresser of clothes whilst dancing and thought of the first pair to wear for the day.
Two weeks worth of clothes, one week of dresses, and Pj's with cardigans/jackets, jewelry, shoes, and a purse or two. The third bag she had packed was mainly for her books and looking at them at that moment made herself happy.
"What to wear..." She grimaced at the fact that she had taken the time to go through her clothes at home and even the newer clothes she had recently bought.
For the day, she chose her high waisted knit skirt which was chocolate brown and was calf-high. A Pale rose 'Love Bird" shirt that was billowy with a collar and cowl neck wit a sewn-in khaki tank top. The shirt laid over the the skirt with a brown belt around the waist and it just seemed to tie the set together. Her brown ankle boots with the thick heal matched just perfectly to where they even went with silver triangle earrings that were dusted with silver and diamond dust- as was the ring her grandmother gave her. The keystone weekend back she had seemed to just pull everything together.
Kady finally looked in the mirror and for a minute, all her insecurities came out as she questioned taking everything off and putting on her Pj's on but quickly cleared the negative thoughts. Somehow, the power to be able to look past her size was more than she'd ever had before. It seemed silly looking at herself now, thinking of all the times she put herself down and how most of her life she cared that she was larger.
It wasn't easy growing up in a family of larger people and seeing that around her was all it took for her to just fall into the habit. What didn't come out of seeing her parents was her military father's overabundance of adventure and even more so her mothers confidence.
Coming to London has really brought out the adventure part but would she ever really have any confidence in her size 22? Probably not but at least she had adventure.

*Knock knock*

Kady danced around while grabbing her wallet, keys, phone and putting them in her purse. Then putting her books Evil Librarian & Fangirl in her librarian book bag, she'd be able to go visit the book shops on her itinerary.
"Miss Lee?" Nicolas gleamed at Kady with a smile as she sang to You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC "Miss Lee!"
"AHH!" She jumped back from her Rock daze and focused on the man at the door. "Hey Nic."
"Nic? That's a new one. I like it, I'm sorry if I intruded on 'shaking you all night long'."
Her face reddened as she looked around and turned the music off. "Well, it was just a great song... so what's up?
"Oh, it's nine o'clock."
"Crap, the breakfast right?"
"Yes but I figured the first morning is usually hard for people to adjust so if you come with me, I can fix you up a fine English Breakfast."
"Perfect, thanks."
Kady followed down to the small dining room past the first staircase and watched Nic head to the kitchen as she took a seat.
She watched him as he rolled up his sleeves and put on his apron to make the breakfast and knew what he meant when he'd said his talent was cooking. He seemed to just work with the commotion that was transpiring behind him as though it was just a normal jumble of people. Face determined to seasoning properly and cutting with Straight arrow precision, it was a true show on it's own and she enjoyed watching men cook. It reminded her of her grandfather.
Once he was done, he came over sitting the plate down then grabbed the tea pot and filled her cup.
"Sugar? Milk?"
"Just a splash of milk please and thank you."
The milk was splashed in gently and Nic sat right in front of Kady while she started eating.
"Umm, are you just gonna sit there the whole time while I stuff my face with this amazing food?"
He chuckled "Probably but it's only to talk. It's not everyday I meet someone who can tell me how the food is and just have a regular conversation."
"Well, give me a second and then I'll praise you." She took her first bit of what she knew was on the plate and mixed what she didn't know.
"Wow, that's incredible." Her mouth was running with so many different flavors compacted together that it was almost fluid and fused together.
She knew the bacon, sausage, eggs, beans, the tomato, bread, and what looked like potatoes but had to ask "What's this?" pointing at what looked like small bags for meat or something and round black circles.
"Those 'bags' are lamb kidneys and those "round black circles" are black pudding with white pudding under them."
"Oh my gosh, they're amazing. I couldn't even tell what is was."
"Probably not, I don't believe lamb kidneys are an everyday american cuisine, no?"
"Right... well it's all great." sipping the tea
"So your plans today?"
"Right. Well, my first plan is to visit wherever I think would be good locations to stop. I'm in no hurry to scout every single place but I know the main places I have to go and I fully intend to visit them. Then it just sorta goes down hill from there I think."
"But of course. Any particular interests?"
"Books," showing him her bag with her books in already "I fully intend to visit large to small libraries on my visit here and the more uncommon the better."
"Looks like you know exactly what you want to do so don't let me keep you ma'am." He grabbed her plate and tea cup, washing it in the kitchen "I'm going to put your cup next to my personal one so I don't mix it in with the other okay?"
"Sounds perfect." Nic walked over gesturing his hand over towards hers.
"Ma'am." She put her hand onto his as he helped her up.
"Ma'am? I'm not even that old, you make it sound like I'm 40."
"Nonsense, just being chivalrous is all."
"And here I thought chivalry was dead."
"Nope, I'm alive and kicking."
She laughed and hugged him "Thank you for breakfast" and headed out the door but briefly heard him from behind her "No, thank you..."
