You were close with both brothers but unbeknownst to you not only did Jared love you but Shannon as well so when you and Jared broke up you turned to Shannon for comfort which slowly turned your friendship into something more than just friends between you to. Although Jared though that he was fully over you he couldn't help but feel a pang in his heart every time he saw you and his brother happy. And after hearing his brothers confession to being in love with you in front of everyone and hearing you repeat the words back to his brother Jared knew he couldn't jeopardize that with his own feelings he was the one after all to call off the relationship between you too so he took off to New York to try and get over you fully, not wanting to ruin his relationship that he has with his brother and also not wanting it to be awkward for the band.
