I hold my knees the cool water covering me like bubble wrap. It's werid yet comforting sitting at the bottom of the pool. I can hear the slight vibration of voices that belong to Eva and Anthony. The water was so clear and it made me feel extra heavy.

I feel my lungs contrast wanting air. I swim up to the top kicking my feet and resurface inhaling air.

"Again! Anthony again!"

I swim over to Eva and Anthony throws her up in the air and I gasp seeing how high she goes up.

"Eva!"

Anthony catches her just in time and Eva giggles. I force my heart to calm down and kick Anthony's leg under the water.

"You scared me."

He winks at me,"oh Leslie darling do me a favor and piss off."

I gap a him and he cuddles Eva to his chest puckering his lips. "I came here to see Eva actually. I missed her cute self. While you on the other hand is interrupting our special moments. Now go away and go to the bottom of the pool ok."

He sticks his tongue at me and turns in circles while murmuring to Eva. She looks at me and winks.

That little one!

Smh. Children these days.

Deciding to enjoy this pool moment I start to do laps, and also lounge around. In no time Mary appears as I float on my back with my eyes closed.

"Sweetie are you hungry?"

"Yes thank you I'm starving I thought no one would ever ask!"

Even with my eyes close I roll my eyes.

"I was talking about Eva, Anthony."

"Ugh how rude of you. C'mon Eva let's go eat shall we."

"Leslie are you hungry?" Mary asks.

With my eyes close I let out a sigh. Usually I would jump at the opportunity to choke down some food, but lately I haven't had an apetite.

"No thank you. I'll be out in a few."

"Ok I'm going to take Eva. Well be in the gardens."

I wave a hand at her showing I heard. It's been such a short time but I trust Mary with Eva. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Mabye it because I notice the looks Mary gives Eva. The same looks I give her. We love her.

It feels nice to have comfort in knowing I can trust at least one person.

The water swooshes as I hear Anthony's feet pad on the cement.

"Bye leiley!"

"Bye baby."

The door shuts and I inhale the air softly. The only sound is the soft hum of tiny waves that hit the pool wall.

I open my eyes annoyed by the constant stare I've been recieving.

"You know if you take a picture it last longer."

I eye Rhett whose been sitting in the chair for the past hour and a half. I could feel his gaze on me the whole time but had no effort to ask him to stop.

His chin in his hand, and his eyes calculated as always.

"If I had my phone with me, I'd take a picture."

I hold his stare long enough to make me get goosebumps which cause my eyes to flicker away.

"You know people who go to the pool often get in the water and not just sit and stare at a person."
