CHAPTER 4

I woke up to find myself lying on my bed. Wait, I think nakatulog yata ako kagabi sa couch. Maybe binuhat ako ni Luke kagabi. I reached for my phone on my bedside table and texted him good morning and sorry because natulugan ko sya kagabi. I also texted Julia na sumabay na sya sakin papasok mamaya coz on the way naman yung bahay nila papuntang school.

It's already 6:30 in the morning and my first class is in two hours so I went straight into the shower. Ugh, I swear 8:30 classes should be illegal.

When I came out of the shower, nagtext si Juls saying that I should text her when I'm on my way na. After ko mag bihis and mag-ayos, which took like an hour or something, bumaba na ako to have breakfast. Naabutan ko sila Dad and Kuya eating their breakfast silently, which is normal. They only talk to each other when I'm around.

"Good morning Dad. Good morning Kuya," I gave both of them kisses on their cheeks.

"Good morning princess," Dad put down the newspaper he was reading to greet me.

"Someone's having a great morning already," Kuya teased as he sipped on his coffee. I just smirked at him.

"Good morning Nanay Rose," I gave her a hug as she was pouring juice in a glass.

"Naku, good morning din, anak. Kumain ka na at baka ma-late ka pa dyan," I smiled at her. She's so maalaga.

"Sige po Nanay, ako na po. Kumain na po kayo. Nasan nga po sila ate Tess and ate Yoly? Bat di po natin sila kasabay kumain?" Tatlo lang sina Nanay na kasama namin dito sa bahay. They've been with us for years that is why we treat them like family na din, para na din akong may mga ate and mother.

"Hay nako, inuna nila yung mga labahin at mga tanim sa labas para daw hindi sila mainitan mamaya," I nodded as I grabbed a piece of hotdog and omelette and started putting jam on my bread. Yes, I am that hungry.

"Sorry I came home late last night princess. I had a bunch of stuff to work on back at the office," I heard my brother scoffed. Dad cleared his throat. "Anyway, I heard from Nanay that you had dinner with Luke last night. How was it?" Dad asked as he was munching on his pancakes.

"It was great Dad," I beamed at him. "He bought me this ring and it's so beautiful I can't— "

"Ring?" "What ring?" Kuya and Dad both interrupted me. Napatigil naman sa pagkain si Nanay.

"Okay, before you say anything else, I just want to say that it's just a promise ring okay? It's not like I'll be married soon or something," I shook my head as I started munching on my food.

"Well just make sure, okay? You're still my princess and I don't have any plans on walking you to the altar anytime soon, okay?" I guess Dad's pretty serious about this. He's in good terms naman with Luke. He and Luke's dad has been business partners for years now. That's actually how I met Luke.

"Naku, bata ka pa para magpakasal anak. Mag-aral ka muna ha?" Nanay gave me a worried look.

"I promise Dad," I smiled at him. "Nanay, promise ko din po na I'll finish college muna before I make you wear a Ninang's dress, okay?" We both laughed at that.

"Uhm.. Excuse me po mga Sir, ma'am." We turned to see Kuya Dan, our family driver, standing by the kitchen door.

"Oh, good morning Kuya Dan. Sabayan nyo po muna kami ditong kumain," Dad greeted him with his warm smile.

"Ay, salamat po Sir. Pero kumain na po ako sa bahay eh. Nagpunta lang po ako dito para sabihin na may sira po yung kotse eh. Kailangan po muna yata dalhin sa talyer."
