The Perfect Timing

Chapter 8

"Kuya, Juls and I are gonna watch movies, do you wanna join us?" I knocked on Kuya's door.

"Okay, bihis lang ako," I grinned. He normally doesn't like being around my girl friends. May pagka-mahiyain ang Kuya ko. But he's different when Julia's around.

"Bes, I put on the latest installment of Fast and the Furious," she grinned at me as she sat beside me on the sofabed in front of the tv.

We both like action packed movies, it's just that we prefer sappy, romantic ones when we feel like it. And besides, we're gonna be watching with Kuya, baka layasan kami nun kapag nakita nyang The Notebook ang pinapanuod namin.

"Nice, that's the latest one, right?" Kuya smirked as he was about to remove the food and drinks on the tray that was on top of one of the La-Z-Boy recliners beside Julia.

"Kuya! Don't sit there! Umupo ka na lang dito oh," I tapped the space next to Julia. She quickly glared at me. Mabuti na lang medyo dim yung light.

"What? Ba't kasi nandito yung pagkain?" he glared at me. Great. They're mad at their matchmaker now.

"Kuya, kapag nilagay ko sa lapag edi madumi na. Baka bumuhos pa yan kapag natabig natin," I popped a popcorn from the bowl that was in front of us.

"Why don't we put it on the table then?" He was about to transfer them on the table but I quickly stopped him.

"Eh Kuya if you put it there, we won't be able to see the screen na kasi matatakpan nung food and drinks sa harap," I smirked at him. Naramdaman ko namang sinisiko ako ni Julia sa tagiliran ko. Ugh. Can't they understand how I'm taking care of their love lives here?

"Fine. You're so fussy," he gave up and sat down next to Julia. Etong isa naman naging bato yata. Hindi na gumagalaw. I snickered. This is gonna be a long night for these two. Hihi.

An hour and a half into the movie, I received a text from Luke asking if he could call. So, I excused myself from the 'lovebirds'. Julia mouthed 'no' pa nga to me, probably because she doesn't want to be alone with my Kuya, but I just grinned at her and went to my room.

"Hey," I closed the door behind me as I answered his call.

"Hi, babe. How are you?" I heard some scuffling on the other line. He's probably preparing to sleep right now.

"I'm okay naman. Juls is sleeping over tonight until Sunday night. We were watching a movie with Kuya when you called. How's your day?" I stepped out of my room into the balcony and sat on one of the chairs.

"It was good naman, babe. Medyo napagod lang sa site kanina, I had to do a lot of things eh. But I promise babe, by Thursday next week, I'll be done with the project. Babawi ako sa'yo," he sounded really tired. Maybe it's just work. I hope it is.

"Oh, right. Tapos na din finals namin by then," I smiled. I miss him so much.

"Great. Maybe we could go somewhere. Mag out of town kaya tayo? Ipagpapaalam kita. Where do you want to go?"

"Babe, next time na lang kaya tayo mag out of town? You sound tired. You should rest. Maybe we should just meet up or I could go to your place or something. Mapapagod ka lang kapag lumayo pa tayo," I sighed. Why did I even doubt him? I know na hindi kayang maglihim sa akin ni Luke. He wouldn't do that. I know him.

"Yeah. I think you're right. Basta babawi ako sa'yo, okay?" He sighed. We talked for like 30 more minutes before I told him that we should go to sleep. Maaga din daw sya ulit for work tomorrow.
