Chapter 12

Evna's pov
The next day I felt extremely awkward around Jim. I had cried, I NEVER CRY! He seemed to act like nothing happened, intentionally- maybe. If so, I'm extremely grateful, because I normally don't show my emotions. I really hope he didn't tell anyone. I don't want their sympathy. Each night for the next week, I had nightmares about Gunmar, my dad, Sarta's death, and her cries when her daughter was taken away. Sometimes, I felt so unsafe I didn't even show up for school.
However, on the bright side, Gunmar is dead. Sarta, my father, and Delet have all been avenged. I heard Gunmar went through an incredible amount of pain when Bular died, so I was happy about that. It's nice to know that he had to suffer a loss of one he loved, if he was even capable of loving.
Anyways, it's been a week after Jim came over, and I've skipped about 3 days of school. But not today. I'm going to put on my mask and enjoy the day... maybe. I grabbed my black leather messenger bag and said bye to all the stalklings, because I was sleeping at Claire's place for the night. After all she was my first friend here. I left and walked along the highway to school. I arrived to school. Claire and Toby looked super excited. Jim looked a little stressed.
"Hey guys..." I say curiously. "Whats up?"
"Have you been to been to a troll village?" Jim asked. I gave him a confused look.
"Well, no... I live with a species of troll that is believed to be brutal killers. If I went into a troll village," I sighed in depression. "do you know what would happen to me? Why?" I asked in my previously-curious voice.
"Well, the trolls from Heartstone Trollmarket took a vote. And they agreed to not jugde you till they've met you, do you wanna go there after school?" Jim asked. I sighed. After a minute, I answered.
"I'll go." I said. They all exchanged 'YES!' and 'YAHOO!'s, which brought a smile to my lips, but I was still nervous. So at gym I let myself loosen up by playing a deadly game of dodgeball. I think I hit someone so hard they may have lost a tooth! Um... oopsies I guess. I hope they don't hold a grudge on me. Hehe.
