Chapter 13

Jim's pov
Me, Tobes, Claire, and Evna met up after school and went down to the canal. Evna seemed sort of nervous, but who wouldn't? Where ever she went, she always had a stalkling close by (well that's what she told me). She actually tried to back out, but Toby wouldn't let her.
"So.." Evna says nervously, "who all lives down there that I know I'll be able to trust?" Wow, she really must be nervous. Maybe she's afraid her past will repeat? I thought to myself. We were walking away from the the school. I listed off all the trolls I knew I could trust (the trolls that stood up for me when they were going to throw me and Strickler out.)
"Well, we know we can trust Draal, Bagdwella, Vendal, Blinky, and AAARRRGGHH!!!" I say. "But AAARRRGGHH!!! was hit with Angor Rot's Creeper's Sun blade. He's no longer with us." Toby starts to sniffle. I go over and put my arm around him.
"I'm soo sorry." Evna says, her voice filled with sympathy and sadness. "Angor Rot is horrible. And a Creeper's Sun blade should have never been in his possession. I know what it does. And it's hard to get over. But later, I'll you help ease the pain. I know something that just might help." She says. Then her face shows deep thought.
"What ya thinkin' 'bout?" Claire says as we approach the canal.
"Blinky. What's his full name?" Evna asks.
"Blinkous Galadrigal." I say. She stops dead in her tracks under the bridge.
"No, no, no, no, no. Uh uh. If he's down there I am not going down there!" She says. By the was she said it, she meant it. Then she pointed a finger at me. "You. Did he set you up to this- Are you working for him?" She says suspiciously.
"What? You know him?" I ask, astonished.
"Mhmm."
"He's never mentioned knowing you, wait a minute are you the one that-" She cut me off by putting her hand over my mouth.
"Yes, but we don't talk about that. Ever. I'm outta here." Tobes grabbed her wrist.
"You are coming with us, you said you would." He dragged her over to the wall as she tried to fight it.
"Over my cold, dead body!" She yelled, as she struggled to get away from his grasp. He grabbed her other arm, I grabbed her ankles, and Claire opened he portal. We carried her in. The portal closed and wee set her down. She pounded on the wall. Then she faced us. "Let.. me out." She said. Me, Claire, and Toby exchanged looks, then shook our heads.
"There's nowhere to go but down." Toby said. She gave him the death glare, the began walking down the steps.

Why do you think Evna doesn't want to go where Blinky is? What do you think they did? The only way to know is to wait.
