A New Journey Awaits

Chapter 22

Jim's POV
Desta is gone. She died in her best friend's arms. Evna, and Claire were crying. Evna held her deceased friend close, I held Claire. No one moved. The trolls looked like statues, Numora was hiding, and Toby wasn't sure what to do. Evna was a confusing girl. No one knew if she would flip out on the closest person, or if she would cry into them. Tobes took his chances and went up to her. He hugged her, and she buried her face in his shoulder. After 5 minutes, she took a deep breath and wiped away her tears; she took her best friend bridal style, grabbed Desta's bow and arrows, and grabbed a cup like rock. She left to bury her friend. All eyes went to Blinky. You could tell he felt terrible.
"You did it again. Another person gone because of you!" Dictatious growled at his brother. Blinky said nothing. He just starred at the pool of blood. He whispered something to himself, but I wasn't able to hear him. I left to go find Evna.

Evna's POV
I picked up my friend, her weapon, and a rock I could use as a shovel and left. I went to where we talked about Jackson. I gently set her down on the beach. I took the rock and dug a 6 foot, human-sized hole. I gently put her in the hole. I layed her bow on her stomach. I took a single arrow and put it on the bow, then layed her hands on her stomach. I set the rest of the quiver by her leg. I put 'How to Train Your Dragon', and 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' between her arm and her ribs. I was sad she died in the her human form. I took out my notebook and wrote a note to lay on her that reads:
'Desta, I thank you for saving me, but I would have accepted death. I will win the nerf war, and I will kill the person who killed Jackson. I promise. Dender and his family will be touched by none. Here is HTTYD 1&2, my spare discs. There is no way I'd ever be able to forget you. I thank you for helping me find Gunmar when I was in the Darklands, it saved my life. So I owed you, now I owe you 2. Goodbye, Evna.'
Then I began to bury her.

Jim's POV
I watched as Evna buried her friend. I slowly walked up to her.
"Hey." I say quietly. She turns around.
"Hi." She forces a small smile.
"You know Blinky didn't purposefully kill her. It was a reflex to keep me safe. He feels terrible."
"He didn't kill her. It's not his fault. I shouldn't have taken my rambling so far, it's my fault."
"You wanna go back?"
"Sure." I say.

Evna's POV
We head back. BB and DD are in a fist fight. Arrrgh, Toby, and Claire are trying to break it up, and Numora is gone.
"Woah, woah, woah! What is going on here?" I yell.
"He started it." DD whimpered.
"Lies! Evna, he is the one who has started it." BB complains.
"You two are so immature!" I yell. I grab Blinkys ear and drag him out of the cave. He winces, as dug my nails into his ear. "Claire, Jim, Toby, Arrrgh! Come on!" I yell. I drag Blinky through the forest.
"Ok, you can let go of him now." Jim said defensively at the beach. I stare at him, and let the troll go. I push the boat into the water, when we get to it at the beach, then I jump in and start it. Everyone just watches.
"Are ya coming?" I ask impatiently.
"Uh... yah, come on." Jim jumps in first. Everyone else follows. I could hear them whispering as I started the boat.
"If you guys have something to say, say it out loud." I say. Everyone is silent. The ride back is quiet. When we get there the sun I coming up. "Oh, come on!" I groan.
"We have to get you guys back to trollmarket." Jim says to BB.
"No time." Arrrgh says.
"He's right. You two coming back to my den. I don't care what the rest of you do." I say. Me BB, and A-bird all run back to my den. It's kinda far away, but we manage to make it. We walk in panting, to find Draal asleep on the floor. He's a mighty warrior, strong, and tough. But when he's sleeping, he looks so happy, this really lightens my mood. I smile a little more when I see the little stalklings sleeping on his stomach, and in his arms. I take a picture of it with my phone. And my iPod. And my camera from when I was five. BB and A-bird are sleeping on the couches. I walk around them and crawl into over-sized ground bed. I'm almost asleep when I see Jim, Claire, and Toby walk in drowsily. They lift up the covers and crawl in with me, instantly asleep. I crawl out to take a picture on my phone, iPod, and camera. I also take off their shoes. Then I crawl back in and enjoy the warmth of my friends. After maybe five minutes, I'm asleep.

Jim's POV
I woke up hugging Toby, Claire hugging my back. What happened last night? I wonder. I look around, Enva, me, Toby, and Claire are all sleeping on Evna's ground bed, Blinky and Arrrgh have the couches, and Draal is sleeping on the rock hard ground, swarmed by stalkings. It's cute really, they look so happy. I reach into my pocket and take a quick picture, while still laying on the ground bed. It's not too good, but it's still fun to look at. Everyone is still sleeping. Slowly, everything comes back to me, except, me, Claire, and Tobes all fell asleep on the beach. I yawn, and check the time. 7:02. Of course no one's up yet. I roll back over and sleep some more, the same way I woke up.
