A New Journey Awaits

Chapter 21

Evna's POV
    It's been about 15 minutes, and Desta is still laughing. It's funny really. I'm still dragging her, as I'm walking walking backwards. I used this moment to take off my shoes and put them on my friend, Claire did the same, so we're walking barefoot in the sand. So now I'm dragging a girl who can't stop laughing, with her shoes, my shoes, and Claire's shoes on her stomach. We just kept walking and walking and walking.
"So, you don't actually like Jim, right?" Claire asked awkwardly.
"Well not in that sense." I said between vicious yanks on my friend.
"Ok, so why did you say you did?"
"Because I was bored out of my mind. That brightened up my... night." I shook the thought away. "So, you like Jim." I say.
"Well, who wouldn't? He's every girls dream." Desta stopped laughing abruptly, and starred at her. She got up, turned into her troll form and walked away. Claire just watched. "Uhh... was it something I said?"
"Sorta, but you didn't know it would hurt her this bad." I say, watching my friend walk away.
"What? How bad did it hurt her?" She asks innocently.
"So bad she changed into her troll form. Keep walking, we'll catch up."
"No, I want to apologize."
"Not now, it'll hurt her more." I say walking away.
"Hey Ev!" She shouts. I turn around. She throws my shoes to me.
"Thanks." I yell. I pick them up and keep walking. I catch up to Desta who is sitting on the beach in her human form. She looks at me with teary eyes, my heart breaks at the sight of my crying friend. "Oh, Desta. Your mascara!" She giggles.
"I don't wear make-up. You know that."
"I know, but it made you laugh." I say. "What's wrong?"
"You remember Jackson, my boyfriend? The one that I loved so much?" I nod my head. "He left me for some player, then they killed him." She bawled. "The reason he left me was because we got in a huge fight. I called him so many terrible names. I never got to apologize." She cried gasping for air. I held her close and tight.
"Hey, hey. It's ok." I said cradling her. "You were mad, he was mad. It's ok to yell and be angry."
"But I never got to apologize." She said between gasps for air.
"If you had known you wouldn't be able to apologize, you never would have said those thing. You were angry, and upset." I cooed. We sat like that for five minutes. "Why did Jim being Claire's perfect guy remind you of Jack?"
"I don't know. She said he was every girls dream. But I had already found mine." She sniffled. "And now... he's dead." She cried.
"Do you know who it was? We could buy a body bag for her." I say trying to make her feel better.
"It wasn't a her." She said. I was taken aback.
"Oh, well... uhh.. we'll get one for him, and I will definitely get him. Don't you worry." I say.
"Where's Claire?"
"I told her to go on without us, we can catch up." I say.
"How?"
"Race." I say as I jump up and run. She laughs and chase after me. About 5 minutes of running, a break, then 5 more minutes of running, we finally caught up to Claire. We get about 10 feet in front of her then we fall on our faces, panting.
"Hi... Claire." Desta gasps.
"Hey.. where ya' been?"
"Bawling... my.. eyes out... over my... dead... boyfriend." She says between breaths. I have caught mine... almost.
"But we don't talk about that. Or my dad. Or pasts in general." I say, getting up.
"Ok?" Claire agrees, confused.
"Well, let's go." Desta says, getting up. She starts walking. Me and Claire exchange looks, and shrug. After about an hour, we met up with Jim and Toby on the other side of the island.
"Hey!" Toby greets.
"Sup, bruh." I say. We were all saying our hellos, before Blinky and Arrrgh came out of the forest.
"Hi." Arrrgh says.
"Yellow." Desta says.
"You guys find anything?" I ask. Jim and Toby shake their heads.
"Yes, actually we did." Blinky says.
"Really?" Claire asks.
"First island, too." I say in wonder.
    "So... is DD there?" Desta asks.
    "Don't know." Arrrgh replied.
    "You didn't check?" I ask.
    "Well, no." I face palm.
    "Well, let's go look." I say. Blinky and Arrrgh lead the way, the rest of follow close behind. When we get there I grab my pocket flashlight from my bag, and a knife. Jim summons Eclipse, Claire grabs the Shadow Staff, toby grabs his Warhammer, Desta grabs her bow and arrows. We walk in, I feel a tickle in my throat. Oh no! I clear my throat and keep walking. We see DD, and Numora kiss. Me and Desta are trying so hard to not laugh. Everyone else makes a disgusted faces.
"I ship it." Desta whispers to me.
"Oh my goodness! SAME!" I whisper, choking back my laughter. "Almost as much as Jim and Claire."
"Yas!" Claire looks at us and puts her finger to her lips.
"Shhhh." We look around the corner. Things are heating up. I'm choking my coughs, and my giggles. I get up and leave. "Where are you going?" Claire asks.
"I can't handle this." I say trying to not laugh. I walk away and laugh when I'm outside. My laughs turn into coughs, and my coughs turn into hacking. I try to hold in my coughs as I go back in to get my bag for my inhaler. I slipped out a small cough, and smack my hand over my mouth. I grab my inhaler and leave. After 2 steps, I trip on a rock and fall on my back, making me cough so loud that China could hear. I grab my inhaler and take a deep breathes.
"Who's there?" DD yells. everyone stays quiet. "WHO IS THERE?!?" He yells much louder.
"No one, just go back to making out." Desta says, laughing the last part. BB stares daggers at her. I take one last deep breath and put my inhaler back.
"DD you are nasty!" I say. "I mean i knew you were low, but come on. Are you so low that you went for Numora?" I ask.
"Actually, he could've done worse." Blinky says. "Like Stacy." He says her name with disgust.
"Hey, she was nice! If you didn't chop her up with that battle axe, maybe we could've been a thing!" Dictatious yells at his younger brother.
"Who's Stacy?" Jim asks.
"Only the pretteist girl ever." DD says. "And he," pointing at BB "killed her." Jim wears the weirdest face ever.
"How come when you two fight, it always gets personal?" I ask BB and DD. No one hears me. "I can say anything right now. I'm gonna die. I'm going to be suicidal. I'm gonna kill Jim." I say rambling. Everyone drops what their doing and stares at me. "Hey, you guys can hear me." I say. I assume out of reflex, Blinky throws a sharp rock at my head. Desta jumps in front of me, taking the rock to her heart. She falls backwards onto me.
"D-Desta?" I say, choking back my tears, holding her.
"Take care of Dender for me. Win the nerf tournament." She says. "Don't forget me." She takes her last breath and falls limp.

What will happen next? Will DD and Numora become an actually thing? Will Evna hate Blinky for the rest of her life? Wait till next chapter. It'll be good.
