caitlin loved taking showers. she loved turning the vanity light in her bathroom on and running the water whilst the night sky was just peaking through. she was most definitely a night showerer. showering just wasn't the same in broad daylight. she felt overexposed, though the windows in her bathroom were sealed shut. she would rather be up, knowing her whole world was asleep.

caitlin loved the way her bathroom steamed up after she turned the shower head on. she loved the mildly hot water that dripped down her back. she loved that it could relieve her muscles from a days long worth of work. most of all, she liked the warmth.

people at her school always called her cold. she wasn't literally a cold person, but people always perceived her as though if she were mean. little did they know she actually was physically cold. her hands would always be colder than anyone else's. she would always wear more layers despite anyone noticing. in class she chooses the seat farthest from the window. all because she's plain and simple, cold.

part of her utterly hates the cold. she would most definitely prefer warmth over the chilly weather anytime. she didn't like being suffocated by massive blankets and covered in wooly coats all the time.

but part of her just loved the cold. the idea of cuddling up against someone, relishing in their body heat. but that's the thing. she didn't have anyone, she believed no one liked her. maybe it was just because of how cold they all thought she was.

but she wasn't cold at all.  she was superficial. she was fake. she had to be, so people wouldn't see what she really was.

sad
hurt
destroyed
broken

but no one ever knew that. they knew she was cold, and that was the end of it. she noticed something however. her city resembled her a lot.

the city looked sad.
the city got hurt economically.
the city felt destroyed.
the city was broken.

she wanted the city to be fixed. she wanted to feel safe in broad daylight and not hang in the shadows. she wanted to renovate the city, but to do that, she would have to save it first.

little did she know, she needed to be fixed, too.
