I wake up in a cold room. The floor is made of cement and so is the ceiling. There are three cement walls and one with bars.
Jail cell. Why am I in a jail cell? The last thing I remember is falling asleep next to Jay.
I get up and immediately have a huge headache.
"Hello," I yell in hopes someone hears me.
The only reply I get is my own voice echoing of the walls. There is a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling. In the corners of the room there is a statue of a weeping angel. Next to the angel is a mirror that has fallen down.
Why is that here? It looks old. Way older than everything else here. Even the building itself. What's with the mirror next to it?
I look to my left and there is writing on the wall.
"Don't blink. Whatever you do NEVER blink. The angel moves," I read aloud. "What is that supposed to mean?"
I look back in the corner and the angel is gone. I look back at the message and the angel is in front of it head in its hands.
"How did it get over there?"
I walked closer to the statue, but after a few steps the light flickered off and on. I looked at the light.
"The electrical wiring in this place must be really sketchy."
I looked back down and the angel was in my face. Its head was out of its hands. Now you could see the mouth filled with sharp, stone teeth. Its arms were reaching for me. It looks like I stopped it right before it could touch me.
I wonder what happens if it touches me. Probably nothing good. I need to get out of here, but I can't look away from this thing or it will move. What about the mirror? It would stare at itself maybe that would stop it.
I moved around the angel while never looking away. Everytime I blinked it moved a little, so I only blinked when I absolutely had to. Once I got to the corner I bent down and grabbed the edges of the mirror. I held it in a position where the angel couldn't see the reflection. Then I looked away. I counted to six then looked up. The angel was once again in my face. Just inches away from touching me. I lifted the mirror and hung it on the nail in the wall behind me. The angel was staring into the mirror.
I really hope this works. If it doesn't work I'm dead. The angel will touch me and I will be at its mercy.
I backed away to a different corner, closed my eyes, counted to ten, and opened them again. The angel didn't move at all.
Hey it worked. That's awesome. Now where am I? And more importantly how do I get out of here?
I went to the bars and looked out in the empty hall.
"Hello, is anyone out there?"
No answer. There has to be someone here. There is no way I'm the only one here. Or the only one still alive.
"Hey wake up! I know you're there."
"What do you want?"
"I knew I wasn't the only one here!"
"Good for you honey. Now what do you want?"
"Why are we here?"
"I don't know. I've been here for a while. No one has come on the other side of the bars."
"Wait so you were awake when I was screaming that first time."
"Yeah, you're not the first person that's yelled like that. I learned quickly that in those first few minutes nothing I say will help you calm down."
