After months of worrying on both sides, Jyn and Cassian welcomed their daughter into the galaxy.

They named her Hope.

Jyn held the child in her arms, trying to control the emotions within her. She looked to Cassian who already had tears streaming down his face. He placed a gentle kiss on Jyn's forehead and then one on his daughter's.

"Your parents would be proud, Cassian," Jyn spoke.

He looked into her gleaming eyes and once again reminded himself of his immense passion for her. "And yours, too, Jyn. I'm sure of it."

"She'll have your intelligence," she said to Cassian.

He grinned her way, "And your courage."

"But best of all, she'll have our love," she said with tears falling from the remembrance of her parents. She would do everything in her power to keep tragedy from her daughter's eyes.

The doors slid open to reveal Baze, Chirrut, and Kaytoo. Bodhi sent his apologies for not coming: he had a new recruitment of pilots to train.

Cassian quickly wiped his tears away and stood to welcome the bunch.

Baze stepped closer to Jyn to see the newborn. His hair was neatly pulled and tied back. His weapon was nowhere in sight. This was a first for him.

"I have a little niece," he said proudly.

"Would you like to hold  her?" Jyn asked.

His eyes only widened, but Chirrut nudged him forward. Jyn placed Hope in his stiff arms. Cassian took hold of Jyn's hand and watched the man find solace in holding the tiny human.

Baze seemed lost in his own wonderment, swaying back and forth to comfort Hope. He looked behind him and saw Chirrut, his eyes distant but mouth in a wide grin.

"Your turn," Baze said to him.

"Ah sure, give the newborn to the blind-," he began to joke, but he felt the bundle of warmth handed to him before he could finish.

He was surprised at her lightness. "So small," he noted.

He suddenly heard gasps from all around him. "Did I do something?" he asked.

"Her eyes..." Cassian began.

"They're opening, Chirrut," Jyn finished.

He smiled to himself and chuckled, "May your first visions of this world be filled with splendor, young one."

Hope blinked and stared into Chirrut's blue eyes.

Cassian walked over and took Hope into his arms. "Kay?" he asked.

"Captain, surely you know the chances of me dropping the child are high, and with my height... well, I won't go into detail about that."

"Hold out your hands," Cassian calmly ordered.

Kay obeyed, trying to put aside the spark of excitement in his system. Cassian placed Hope on top of Kay's metal fingers and stayed close by with his hands folded over his chest.

"Well," Kay said. "I think she rather likes me."

It wasn't long before Hope began to cry and squirm in his hands.

Cassian put Hope back into his arms and took her to Jyn, who eagerly wanted to hold her daughter once more.

"I calculated that might happen," said Kay.

Cassian gave him a doubtful smirk and sat down at Jyn's side. The company left and all was quiet. While Hope slept in her mother's embrace, Jyn settled into Cassian's arms and watched her daughters chest rise and fall.

Cassian remembered when he had accepted Jyn into his life in that far away past of theirs.

"Welcome home," he had said.

Little did he know then that she would soon become his home.

If anyone's confused as to why Baze called Hope his "little niece" it's because in the movie, Baze called Jyn his little sister... I'm not crying, you are...
