"Charlie. It's me, Beth. I can't believe you're here. . . I've missed you, I was so, so worried you were dead. I knew you'd make it out alive. You need to wake up--it can't be long before Daryl and Rick and Maggie find us. I. . . I just know they will. . . But at the same time, I don't want you to wake up, because I don't wanna half to tell you. . . I'm sorry, I told myself I'd stop crying, but here I am. I guess sisters just have that special power. I love you, Charlie. . . Please wake up. . ."

"Beth. . . ," My voice was horse and burned my throat like drinking acid when I woke up. I couldn't open my eyes, but I felt my fingers twitching at my sides. I felt a mattress below me, the comfiest bed I'd had in a while. It took me a few minutes to realize where I was, what was going on.

But when I did, it felt like I had hit a switch, and suddenly I felt like I was hit with a bus. I remembered looking for Beth with that dude. . . Noah. I turned back when I heard Daryl calling my name, then it was lights out.

My eyes shot open, instantly closing when I saw a bright light. I shakily lifted a hand to shield my eyes from the brightness, blinking in attempt to adjust to the harsh light. A cough escaped my lips, feeling like I was tearing apart my throat. I felt extremely weird, almost off kilter. It was strange, and I felt different--very different. I just couldn't tell what it was.

"Good, you're awake," My head snapped over to see a woman with brown hair, dressed up as a police officer. She slowly walked over and gripped the end of the bed, "We were starting to think you weren't going to make it."

I hurridly looked all around, gripping the bed as I forced myself to sit up, "Where the hell am I and who the fuck are you?" I snapped, my hair falling to the side of my face, now merely a light shade of washed out pink.

"Easy there, tiger," The woman smiled faintly, "I'm Dawn. You're in Grady Memorial Hospital. We cleaned you up."

My hand fumbled around for a weapon as my eyes never leaft Dawn's, "Beth--where's Beth?!"

"She's doing her job, she owes us, and now so do you," Dawn spoke. I furrowed my brows, my hands stopping their search.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean? We don't owe you shit!" I glared at the woman.

"Me and my officers saved Beth's life, and now yours. We--" I cut her off.

"I'm pretty sure that neither of us asked for your help!"

"If it wasn't for us, you'd both be dead," She stayed surprisingly calm.

"Says the bitch that hit me with a car," I narrowed my eyes at her. She huffed.

"It wasn't me who hit you."

"Don't matter. It was your people who slammed into me with their car, so, if anything, you pricks owed me whatever medical treatment you gave me," I said.

Dawn sighed and ran a hand over her face, "You should be nicer. If it wasn't for me and Beth, you'd be dead."

I paused, "What did Beth do?"

"Stole medicine," Dawn said simply, though I could tell there was more to it. She store at me for a few more seconds before a smile broke out on her face, "You two really do look alike."
