SOMEHOW, LAST NIGHT I managed to fall asleep in the car. I woke up and my head was resting on a shoulder. There was an irritating pain in my ankle, but it wasn't horrible. Probably not broken, maybe just twisted.

Still half asleep, I looked and noticed this person had blonde hair, similar to mine. I sat up and for a second I thought it was a dream, looking over the familiar features in shock.

"Beth!" I shrieked. Her eyes flung open as I embraced her in a warm hug.

"I was so worried!" Beth cried into my shoulder. When we parted I looked out my window. There were a lot of other cars, some I recognized. The general scenery seemed vaguely familiar but I couldn't name it.

"Where are we?" I asked my twin.

"Some highway. Everyone thought to come here, so we're all together again. Except for Andrea. . ," Beth trailed off. I sighed deeply, upset with the news. I had just started to grow attached to the older woman. She was nice to me and I thought I made an impact with her. Now she was gone. I couldn't even imagine what Derek was going through.

I knew it sounded horrible, but I blamed them for everything. I blamed them for killing all the walkers in our barn, Daddy running off, the farm getting overrun. We were perfectly fine without them. Now? Now I had grown comfortable with the group just when we lost our safety net. There was no garenteeing they'd even stay with us.

I stretched and opened the car door. I stepped out, followed by Beth. I looked over and saw the rest of this group talking with a map sprawled out on the hood of a car. My eyes locked with Maggie's small frame and I ran to her.

I latched my arms around her waist and she wrapped her delicate arms around me. It was nice to be enveloped in her warm arms and I laughed softly into her as she gripped me just as tight. Once I let her go, I was instantly hugging Daddy. He chuckled.

Rick continued rambling on, but I don't think anyone was listening. We all were tired and hungry.

"So, let's make our way down the road," Rick declared and clapped his hands together, startling Beth who fell asleep with her head on my shoulder. I smiled at her sudden outburst and she laughed at herself.

Beth, Lori, Carl, Derek, Rick and I all got in one car. Rick drove, Lori in the passenger seat, me and Beth shared a seat with her against the left door, Carl in the middle, and Derek against the other door.

I felt bad because my family survived, yet both of his sisters were now dead. I don't know what I'd do without Maggie and Beth. I loved them both so much I couldn't even describe it. They were my rock.

We drove for what I presumed to be hours, but seeing as I had no clock who knows how long it was. We eventually ran out of gas and had to pull over. We all piled out of our few vehicles.

"Rick, it's dark. We can't walk," Lori stated.

"We'll just sleep here tonight," Rick said and pinched the bridge of his nose. I sighed as we started pulling all our things out.

I lied down a large blanket for Beth, Carl and I. Beth on the left, Carl in the middle, and me on the right. Maggie set up her and Glenn's spot beside ours so she was facing Beth and Daddy was set up next to me.

Daryl sat on the dirty ground close to the tree line, searching for any threats.

Late that night I was woken up to some one shaking me awake.

"Charlie! Wake up! Daryl fell asleep and Carl ran off!" Beth's worried voice rushed. I shot up and grabbed my knife from my back pocket.

"Stay here. I'll be back!" I called over my shoulder as I ventured into the dense forest. I ran aimlessly, searching for the young boy with a burning pain in my leg. I heard a branch snap and I quickly turned around to see Carl.

"Carl! What the hell are you doing out here?" I hissed as I grabbed his upper arm and looked around to see what direction the cars were.

"I was looking for supplies," He replied sheepishly.

"That's no excuse." I continued looking in all directions, though nothing looked familiar. A female walker appeared out of nowhere and I released Carl to deal with the monster before me. I took a step closer and plunged my knife into the creatures skull. Blood squirted onto my shirt and face as I pulled my knife out.

I groaned and turned around to grab Carl again. He held out his arm, already knowing what was coming, and I grabbed it. He gasped and pointed. When I turned around there were about 30 walkers.

I gulped before I quickly threw him onto my back and began to run away. I started to recognize my surroundings and soon enough I was at our one-night camp spot.

"Get up! Get up! Walkers! We need to go!" I squealed and everyone woke up before quickly packing. The walkers got closer and I killed a few while Beth packed our blanket. She put it on and pulled on my arm, meaning it was time to go. I, along with the group, began running down the road. I glanced back and saw Carl standing there looking like a deer in headlights.

I grumbled before bolting towards the young child, and for the second time tonight threw him onto my back before running to catch up with the group. I realized Maggie had stopped to wait for me and when I was right behind her she took off running.

We ran until we came to a small community. Rick and Daryl cleared a house and we all went inside. By now the sun was starting to peek through the clouds of grey in the night.

I set Carl down and helped Maggie move a couch in front of the door. Daryl plopped down on said couch and made himself comfy. Me, Beth and Carl ran up the stairs. I found a medium sized room with bunk beds.

"Dibs on this room!" I shouted down stairs and the three of us ran in. It was a boys room, so Carl gazed at all the toys before playing with some of them.

"We should rest up. Me and Charlie on bottom, Carl on top," Beth suggested.

"Score!" Carl fist bumped the air and climbed the wooden ladder excitedly.

"Lucky!" I snickered and lied down on the bottom bunk, Beth coming in after. Eventually I fell asleep. Even though this isn't my home, it might not be so bad.

Maybe we weren't all totally fucked.
