I fell asleep thinking about dancing. When I woke the next morning I scrambled out of  bed and over to brush my hair. My ladies arrived a little later and helped me into a black dress and I  rushed down to breakfast. My father was the only one there when I rushed through the door. When I caught sight of him i came to a stop, but it was to late. "Why are you in such a rush? It is very un-lady like."

I curtsied. "Sorry father. I'm just excited that's all."

He looked confused at first then it dawned on him. "That's right you are having the ball tonight."

"Yes." I walked over and took my spot at the table.

"Well then why is this castle not fit for one yet?"

I was a bit shocked. "I'm working on it. I spent most of yesterday preparing and getting everything ready. Only a few things need to be set."

"I will get people to help."

Just then my sisters entered. They look bleary eyed and as if they rushed to get down for breakfast. When they saw me they perked up and started talking about tonight. They started talking about their dresses and that reminded me of something. "I'll have one or two of the seamstresses to come make sure your dresses are perfect."

I finished eating, and excused myself. "Where are you off to?" Mary, who was 13, had a huge mouth full.

"Mary," I scolded, "It is impolite to speak with your mouth full. I expect none of this foolishness to occur tonight." Mary looked down. "Now I have to go place the flowers, make sure the cook has the food under control and get ready myself." With that I left the room and headed to the ball room, to arrange flowers.

When I arrived people were running around with lilies, orchids, and bleeding roses placed all around. When everyone saw me they came to a stop. I strolled in and stopped in the middle of the room. The main gardener approached me and  asked how I wanted the flowers arranged.

"Place the bleeding roses in the entrance on the stair case. Hang baskets of orchids and lilies down the hall leading here. Where are the tiger lilies and  the lotus flowers I requested?"

   "They are coming Princess."

I spoke elegantly like my mother would have. "Good. When they arrive, please place them at the entrances of any room in this wing. For this room make the displays grander than the others."

   He bowed. "Yes Princess."

I left and went to the kitchen to consult the cook on the food.

"It's already cooking Princess," the cook informed me.

   "Very good."

With nothing else to do I headed back to my room. I had to get ready, I only had a couple of hours before my first ball would commence.

At my room I called for my ladies. While they set up bathing water I brushed my hair, and studied my gown. Some one had had it moved to my room today. It was a wonderful gown. The flowing fabric was something new to me, as was the low back.

My lady snapped me out of my thoughts to tell me the water was ready. I think her name was Anne.

The water was warm, and I took longer than I should have. When I entered my bed chambers, a seamstress was waiting impatently for me. She wisked me over to my gown and help fit it to me again. She had to tighten it so that it wouldnt slip while i was dancing. After my dress was on my ladies helped me with my hair. Everyone aruged that I should wear it up, but at my request they left some down.

When they were down i stood in front of the mirrior, and gasped. I almost couldnt believe I was looking at me. I almost  looked exatly like my mother, with my dark hair spilling down my back, and the similarties of our eyes. There was a knock on the door and i straitghened up as i turned toward it. "Come in," I called.

One of my guards opened the door. "Its time Princess. Guests are starting to arrive."

I took a deep breath. "I'm coming." As I crossed the room i whispered under my breath. "Here we go Sarah. This is your shinning moment."
