(Sarah's POV)
My heart shattered. I stared at Lady Welsh, who wore a sad look on her face. I felt tears flood my eyes. "No. No! It isn't true! Tell me you are lying."
Lady Welsh took my hand. "I'm sorry dear."
I jerked my hands out of hers. I looked at Henry who still sat beside me. He looked heart broken and sat ridged. When he noticed that I was looking at him he moved closer and after wiping my tears away he took my hands. "It will be all right. You are fine and that is all that matters."
"You promised." I whispered more to myself.
Henry's eyes were filled with sympathy. "What?"
"You promised!" I yelled.
Henry looked surprised at my sudden outburst, then sank down in the chair. "I know."
I wasn't done though and after his response I kept talking. "You promised to keep us safe! Not just me, but the baby to!"
I saw anger fill his eyes. "I tried! I almost lost you along with the baby! I did lose you! You were dead! I was lucky enough to have you brought back to me! I'm sorry about the child but it was you I wanted to save."
"You didn't want to save the child? Our child!"
"Of course I did! If I had lost you it wouldn't matter because the child would be dead along with you."
I looked around and saw that my father and Lady Welsh were still in the room. "Can you please leave us."
My father took a step closer. "Sar-"
"Can you please leave us!" I interrupted. I turned my gaze back on to Henry and when I heard the door close I spoke again. "You promised me," I heard my voice crack.
"I did. I'm sorry. I tried. You were in the water for to long you had stopped breathing before I reached you, then it took me a while to try to find something to cut the rope with and try to pull you up before I found that knife. When I rode back I thought I had lost you for good."
"Go." I said the one word quietly.
"What?" Henry asked taken back.
"Go. Get out of my chambers."
"Do you want me to leave the castle?"
"If you feel that you must then I won't stop you. The child is gone. You have nothing holding you here." I turned my head away. I heard him stand up and open the door. When I heard the door close I broke into tears.
I stayed like that the rest of the day. I didn't accept any guest other than Lady Welsh. I thought about my dead unborn child. I also thought about Henry. Would he leave knowing that I no longer carried his child?

(Henry's POV)
I left Sarah's chamber and set my hands on the railing. I bowed my head. We had lost our child. I thought about what she said. If I feel like I should leave then she wouldn't stop me. Does that mean she doesn't want me here? Was the only reason she was happy that I had come back was because then our child would have a father?
I sighed and kicked the railing. I turned and walked down the hall to the stairs. I could see her later, after the news had set in.
I was heading to the kitchen when Sarah's father stepped in front of me. "Henry we need to talk." He turned and walked away expecting me to follow, and I did. I followed him into his office and he closed the door behind us.
"What would you like to talk about Sir?"
"Sarah."
I flinched. "What about her?"
"She lost the baby. She is grief stricken."
"I know but she kicked me out of her chambers. She told me I could leave and go back to France."
Her father leaned forward. "Then surprise her."
"With what? What will make her feel better over losing a child?"
"I don't know. Flowers."
"Flowers?"
"Yeah why not."
I sighed. "She is not an ordinary girl. I don't want to just give her flowers. She needs something more."
"Then surprise her with something else. When she gets better she will need some thing to cheer her up. I think someone should be in her chambers with her at all times. I don't mind if it is you, but seeing you might be painful for her."
"Why would seeing me be painful?"
"She was carrying your child. You helped save her but not the child."
I threw my hands up in the air. "Am I just supposed to sit back and wait until she leaves her room?"
"I think that would be best."
I turned around in defeat. "Then that is what I will do. I will go see her right now then just leave her alone until she leaves her room."
"You do that."
I left the King and retraced my steps to Sarah's chambers. A guard stood outside her door. When I reached for the handle he stopped me. "You can't enter Sir."
I glared at him outraged. "Why not?"
"I have orders not to let anyone enter but Lady Welsh."
"You are mistaken Sir."
"No. I have orders from the Princess herself. She asked specifically to keep you out."
"Are you saying I can't enter her room! You will keep me from checking on my love, when she is injured!" I said raising my voice.
"Yes. Those were her orders."
I turned away and stormed down the hall. I stopped at the top of the stairs. "I will just wait and see her when she leaves her room."
