~I put a thingy up there for some reason^~
Nico's pov*
I couldn't shadow travel out. I couldn't run out. I couldn't even think about leaving without this enchantress knowing. I was stuck in the basement again. She had me chained the floor by my feet and left me with half the matches that I had before. Luckily, before I was brought back down here, I had summoned any spirit that might have any idea who the enchantress is. I gave him a quick run up of what was happening and who he should tell and then I let the enchantress take me away. I hope he made it to Percy. I know he'll be here soon if they know where (y/n) is.
I saw the trap door open and the enchantress float down. She had a plate in her hand. "Dinner!" She chimed.
She set down a plate of what I assumed was some kind of mashed potatoes and I think a chicken leg. I was too hungry to care. I began eating and just as the enchantress was about to leave I stopped her. "Why can't I shadow travel?"
"What?" She asked me to repeat.
"Why can't I shadow travel? I'm just curious to know why I can't."
"Because I cast a spell to keep you a prisoner here until I let you go. As long as I'm alive, you'll be here forever." She laughed.
She left the room and slammed the door shut, making the candle blow out. I put my hands on the floor and felt around for the match box. I heard the sound of a match being lit behind me and watched as an arm reached around me and lit the candle slowly. I turned around quickly and found a ghost of a little girl sitting behind me.
I sat there in silence and looked at the girl confused. We stared at each other for a few minutes then she spoke. "You're welcome."
"Thanks..."
I continued to stare awkwardly. She looked to be about seven. She had (h/c) hair, dark brown eyes, and had a (f/c) dress on. She was half my hight and looked like she was waiting for something.
"Oh! Sorry. My name is Annabelle. I'm your happiness."
"My... what?"
"Sorry, I know that word is foreign to you. I'm that feeling inside you that you keep pushing away, no matter how hard I try to make you happy."
"So I'm hallucinating?"
"No." She gave me an exasperated look. "I. Am. Your. Happiness. I'm in the form of a little girl right now, but usually a happiness is inside a person."
"Happiness is a feeling. Not a thing."
"And to some people, your Gods aren't real and are just myths." She looked annoyed.
"You, for some reason, keep pushing me away and I'm fed up with it. I'm supposed to make you happy, but it's kinda hard when you won't let me."
"It's kinda hard to when my girlfriend is possessed by an evil enchantress that's trying to take over the world."
"But even when she wasn't possessed you wouldn't let me in. You need to let me do my job or I'll fade away and you'll never be truly happy."
"After this whole, the world is going to end thing, blows over I'll let you. Ok?"
"Fine. But I'm stuck like this till that happens. And only you can see me, so don't go around looking like an idiot and talking to air."
"It's not like anyone's gonna see me."
She sat down next to me. "I should've taken the form of a blanket. It's freezing in here."
"You can feel things?" I asked.
"Of course. I'm just as human right now as you. It's just that only you can see me." She shivered and hugged herself tightly.
I opened my arms and ushered her to come here. She scooched over and fell into my arms. I hugged her tightly to try to warm her up. She shivered less and loosened her grip around herself. I picked her up and cradled her in my arms like a baby. She closed her eyes and rested her head on me. I layed my head and the wall behind me and closed my eyes too and fell asleep.
Annabeth's pov*
We had already packed our rooms and booked a ticket for Italy again. We had the ghost named, Adrian, with us. He said he would meet us at the airport in Italy when we got there. We had just now boarded our plane and took our seats. Percy was, of course, anxious. He tapped at the armrests on his chair and tapped his foot impatiently.
I placed my and on his to comfort him. He looked at my hand then at me. I gave him a small smile and held his hand. He tried to smile back and held onto my hand tightly. "She'll be ok." I whispered.
Leo looked out the window fascinated with the view. No matter how many times we've flown, he's always like that. I layed my head back in the seat and closed my eyes. The kid behind me was kicking my seat and the lady next to me was yelling about how disrespectful he was being. The two sisters in front of us were arguing about anything and everything. This should be a fun trip.
~Das it peoples.
I think this chapter is a bit shorter than what I normally update, but I updated it. I think that's a miracle. I did make this half asleep while I was supposed to be doing my math test, so sorry if it sucked.
I'm inching everyone slowly to the end. As for the happiness named Annabelle, I just thought of that whilst in art class and thought I would add that. Let me know if it's stupid. Well thank you for reading, I hope you have a great day or night, ily!♡~
