Ben was whistling his newest favorite song that he had just finished listening to over the radio as he walked in the groceries in his arms. Jake's barks were echoing all throughout the house, causing Ben to stop his whistling and shout, "Jake, enough!"

He set the groceries down in the kitchen, then made his way into the living room where Jake was whining in his cage. "Our neighbors are going to complain again if you don't shut it," Ben said, as he opened the cage.

Jake immediately ran up to the window. "Mummy's trained you well, hasn't she?" He opened the window to the backyard and Jake sprinted out to do his business. Speaking of mummy, Ben thought. "Cass, you home?" He called.

He listened for a response, but got nothing. He shrugged it off and went back into the kitchen to put the groceries away. He had practically ransacked the entire store because of Cassie's weird cravings. There have been several nights when he's had to go to the store in the middle of the night because they didn't have what she absolutely had to have.

He didn't mind, but he would rather get up and make it for her instead. So, he put away everything (some things wouldn't fit, but he made it work), then let Jake inside and fed him. Once that was all done, he got out his homework and sat at the table.

Jake bothered him a few times, but he brushed it off and continued with it. About an hour later, he decided to start working on dinner. He wanted to do something simple, so he made spaghetti. Besides, Cassie's always in the mood for spaghetti.

It seemed like hours, but he finally heard the front door open and Jake's excited barks. "Hi, Jakey," he could hear Cassie coo. He smiled and got up from the table to go meet her. "Hi, baby," he tiredly greeted.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and said, "You look exhausted." He hummed, then put his face in her neck. "I'm very exhausted," he mumbled. "How was your day? How was your talk with Jeffery?"

She rested her cheek on his head and sighed, "Well, I told him I wanted to go to another publishing firm. He said no. He went and talked to the publishers upstairs...and they're in the process of writing up a contract to publish the first and second book."

Ben brought his head up to look at her with wide eyes. "What?" He asked. "You're...you...you're getting published." She nodded with the widest smile and he immediately picked her up and spun her around.

"That's my girl!" He excitedly shouted. As soon as he set her down, he pulled her in for a kiss. "Oh, baby, I am so proud of you!" He kissed her over and over again. "When?" He urgently asked. She laughed at his excitement and told him, "Well, there's paper work that needs to be filled out and edits to be done, but Jeffery says it'll be within the next three months!"

Ben brought her into a bone crushing hug and said, "I have never been more proud of anyone in my entire life. You're carrying our child, you're making your dreams come true and I could not be anymore bloody proud." Cassie hugged him tightly back and started to cry a little.

When they pulled away, Cassie winced a twinge of pain in her back. "This has been happening all day," she said. Ben carefully kneaded her back while saying, "Well, you are carrying a football around, it was bound to happen eventually. Come on, we'll celebrate your job with a warm bath, a nice massage and ice cream. Sound good to you?"

She pecked a kiss on his lips and said, "Sounds perfect."

3 Months Later

"Benedict, I swear to God, if I stub my toe on one more box..." Ben ran quickly into the room and picked up his box of scripts from the floor. "Sorry, baby, I meant to move it," he said, as he set it on the table. Cassie sighed, "Yeah, after I almost trip and break my neck!"
