"Hm...I don't know, it seems a little too pricey."

"Of course it's pricey. It's New York!"

Cassie sighed as she looked out of the New York apartment window, enjoying the view of the Empire State Building in perfect sight. She needed to get an apartment here so she had a place to stay when she travelled. She didn't have to invest in a place like this, but it would be much better and somewhat cheaper than staying hotels.

"Can you lower the price?" She asked her realtor. He let out a heavy sigh, then said, "Let me see what I can do. This is the cheapest place we've looked at and it has everything you're looking for and more. Four bedroom, four bath, close to the New York Times building and the nearest subway station is half a block away. You're getting all of that for this price, which would be more in other parts of the city."

Again, a sigh left her lips. She shook her head as she thought, Ben is going to kill me. "That's fine," she told him. "I'll take it." She signed some paperwork, payed the security deposit in cash, then left feeling slightly satisfied.

Yes, she's making a lot more money than she has before, but that doesn't mean she should go around renting apartments in New York! Nevertheless, she did and she could definitely wait to hear what he had to say about it.

She wouldn't be able to be in the apartment for a few weeks because the previous renters still needed to move out and the building likes to do a sweep to make sure everything is tidy with the apartment. So, she checked out of her hotel and made her way to the airport to go home.

She missed Ben and Aiden dearly. It's been about a week since she's seen them and she couldn't wait to get to them. Of course, the flight she was on got delayed several times. By the time she got on, it was nearly midnight. It took seven hours, but she finally got there and shot Ben a text when she landed.

It took forever to get off the plane itself because someone was causing a commotion about how their bags were moved during the flight. Cassie looked to her watch and couldn't believe she was still able to stand with how exhausted she was. By the time the flight attendants had concluded that the passenger's bags were simply shifted from the plane itself, it had been fifteen minutes.

At least her bags would be on the carousel by now...or so she thought. When she got to the carousel, there was only a few bags left and none of them were hers. "Son of a..."

"Excuse me, miss?" She slowly turned around to see her husband standing there with her suitcase in hand and a sympathetic smile on his face. "Hey, beautiful girl." Cassie dropped her carry-on and flung herself into his arms. She buried her face into his neck and started to lightly cry.

Ben carted his fingers through her hair and said, "It's alright, baby. You're home now and I'm going to take such good care of you. You deserve it and so much more." He placed kiss after kiss on her head, then brought her back to look at her.

He gently swiped his thumb under eye and said, "You look exhausted. Come on, let's get you home and in your own bed." He picked up her carry on and rolled her suitcase out to the car. When he got into the driver's seat, he was pulled into a kiss and he couldn't help but smile into it.

"I've missed you," she said after pulling away. He placed a chaste kiss on her lips, then said, "I've missed you so much, Cass, that I can't even put it into words. Aiden's been a real pain in the arse, asking every five bloody minutes when you're coming home."

She laughed at that, then asked, "Where is he, anyways?" He glanced over to the clock, making her look at it. She smacked her hand to her forehead and said, "Right. Sorry, I'm still wonky from the time change. Are we picking him up on the way?"
