The Right Choice

"I can't believe Jack left!" I exclaim pacing back and forth in the Avenger's Tower. The battle was won pretty easily, except Loki and Thanos escaped when their army has all but dissipated. Then Jack flew away and no one could stop him. The whole city block was incased in a giant ice wall and the temperature was about 0 degrees. I don't know what Loki did to Jack or vis versa, but something went down there and I intend to find out what.

"Do you think Loki kidnapped him?" Thor asks.

"No, Jack made it seem like he did it of his own free will," I reply.

"So why would he leave?" Thor asks.

"That's what I'm trying to find out!" I exclaim causing everyone to take a step back. Suddenly I had an idea, "I need to go talk to Loki!" I exclaim before jumping out the window and running away.

I run across rooftops escaping the enraged Avengers behind me. I finally stop at a beach on Long Island and sit and stare out at the ocean. I find its presence calming and I relax probably for the first time in an extremely long time. I quickly fall asleep to the calming sound of the ocean.

The next morning, I wake up clear headed, confident in what I'm about to do next. I get out my phone that Tony gave me and look on the news channels for anything about Loki or Thanos. They couldn't have left Midgard because we destroyed their ship. After several minutes of searching I found a guy in Greenland who claimed to have seen a "purple giant and Shakespearian actor". That had to be them, there was no other purple giant that I knew of on Midgard.

Ok, first order of business, how to get to Greenland. I could walk, but that would take a while and they could be gone before I get there. I could take a boat but that would also take a while. Suddenly a plane zooms over me sending ripples through the water. "That's it!" I exclaim pumping my fist in the air. Now, all I need to do is find a plane.

A few moments later I find myself on the Chase's doorstep. After I ring the doorbell, Mr. Chase opens the door. "Hello Percy, do you need anything?" he asks.

"Is Annabeth home?" I ask.

"Of course, come right in," Mr. Chase replies letting me in the home. I walk upstairs to Annabeth's room and quietly knock on the door.

"Come in," she replies. I open the door, enter the room, and quickly shut the door behind me.

"Can you help me get a flight to Greenland?" I blurt out.

"Well, taking a commercial flight would be expensive, but luckily I have an easier way," Annabeth concludes.

"What is it?" I ask.

"We will fly you!" Annabeth exclaims.

"You have a plane?" I ask surprised.

"Yeah, though I don't know how well it flies, but I can fly it and get you to Greenland in under 4 hours," Annabeth explains while gathering stuff from around the room. We leave her room and walk downstairs. "Bye dad, I have to go out, be back later tonight," Annabeth says before we walk out.

"Do you normally do this?" I ask.

"Do what?" Annabeth asks.

"Leave and not come back until after dark," I reply.

"Sometimes," she smirks as we get into her car. I really hope this wasn't a mistake.
