The hour hand of the clock points sharply at 12. It's midnight already. Time sure does fly no matter what you do. We hardly done anything in the diner; small discussion of the truth and some glancing here and there. To be honest, I'm a little nerve wrecking to be posting in this building in such a long state. I'm afraid the reaper had managed to catch our trail and burst inside the diner any minute now.
Both of the bags under our eyes bloats. Even though neither of us wants to admit it, we knew we were tired. The reason neither of us spoke of our weary state is because it would admit that we would have to strain our body to find a place to sleep. I'm a little stun of our stubbornness. We tried our best not to crumble to fatigued.
"Long day" Chase sigh.
"Not really... kind of short for me" I retort, resting my head on my arm.
"Are you kidding... the amount of action we went through today felt like eternity... a never ending game that has no pause or game over"
My head went straight up. "Oh god... tell me you're not one of those gaming nerds"
"What do you mean gaming nerds" he slants his head to the side, eyebrows raise.
I rest my back on the chair. "Well... one of those fanatics who plays game for a whole period of day non-stop"
"Let me stop you right there" he leans closer. "Just because people enjoys the comfort of video games does not mean they are nerds... we prefer to be called enthusiasts. We appreciate the unique liberty video games provide for us as a way to harness out imagination into fantasy"
"Woww..."I wrap my arms. "You sure do know how to fancy up nerds don't you"
"That is not what I'm doing!" he scowls. "I'm just stating the fact.. enjoying a virtual reality dimension does not give you the right to call us nerds"
We both broke into a hysterical laugh simultaneously. The entire diner watches us as we laugh. Despite the anguish we endured today, a good laugh is what we need.
"I haven't laugh like that god knows how long!"
"I can tell" he smiles.
Seeing his grin arc wide didn't stop me to smile as well. In the long laugh that pass, we both order beer. I rarely drink alcohol; I figure this is the perfect time as any ever. We gauge down the entire bottle in less than five gulps. We order the second round; and enjoy the pleasuring liquor passing down our intestine.
We tilt our head to sip the inducing beer; laughing and sneering at our fate. I could feel my head drop heavy as if the entire world plunging above me. This feeling is one that I hardly experience. The intoxicating sensation of being drunk. I rest my head back, falling into the chair. His expression remains intact in my eyes, the stupid smirk that gets to me.
"Let's get out of here" I said, feeling inflame.
"Sure"
We strode outside in the callous night. Winds aloof in the distant; a crescent moon brandishing the vague night. Our mobile state is a bit compromise, with me having trouble to walk straight and constant leaning over to Chase for support. He doesn't seem to be affected by the amount of alcohol he consumed. Nevertheless, I couldn't allow myself to show my vulnerability in front of him, so I create a strong sturdy face.
He laughs watching my over eccentric face as he said it.
"What are you doing?" he's still laughing.
"Turning my game face on... I can't let you see my drunk face"
"If that's your game face... I can't begin to imagine your drunk face"
"Shut up!"
"Look at that.. the drunk girl is angry.."
"I said shut up!"
He continuously laughs. We reach some sort of hill. I challenge Chase to a race. He took the challenge and we both ran as swift as we could to reach the top of the hill. Despite my drunken state, I didn't have trouble navigating the rocky terrain. The climb didn't give me nuisance. I manage to beat him and leer at him with my tongue as I touch the last pillar on top.
When he closes his feet at the top, he drops on his back at the column of rock and catch his breath.
"Maybe if you exercise more and stop with the video games.. you might stand a chance to beat me in a race" I tease, giving him my hand.
He reaches out and grips it, and he pulls me, causing me to lose my balance and falls atrociously beside him.
"Ouch!" I yell.
He chuckles. "It's easy to influence a drunk person... use it as a reminder"
I groan. Annoyed at him mocking me. I scorn the feeling and use the time to lay down. Despite the solid floor, my exhaustion finally shatters all over me. It feels nice to lay back, staring at the glistering sky. The flickering stars floating in the vacuum space, free of problems.
"Imagine yourselves being a star" I said quietly.
"Okay" Chase join.
"Hovering in the sky, looking over the world as if it's a giant television, watching people living their life, never worrying yourselves of the nightmare being old, or broke or sick... a free vessel in the hollow"
"But I imagine it would be watching a life full of despair" he said. "I can't stand it... watching from above at the cruelty of humans, their transcend from birth only to grow up in a world where the cruel and unjust rules the world and ordinary people are being used as pawn"
"Probably" I shrug off his words.
What happens next is one I never anticipate to be doing. I reach my hand, pressing his shirt, pushing my weight on top of him.
He's surprise at my quick motion. "What are you doing?"
"Quiet!" I muster, quickly tilting my head sideways, pressing my lips to his. Nothing matter in the moment. Our tongue dance back and forth to the rhythm, our mouth intertwined. His breathe taste bitter, yet it feels sweet and warm. I trace my hand on the outline of his face, touching it. I press my body leaner with me on top. Then he pulls away for a moment. "Wait—"
I put my fingers to his lips and we kiss again. The stars are our audience, the wind is our company. I move my hands from his jaw to his chest. He lay his hand on my waist, I change it higher to my chest. He moves his fingers slowly under my shirt and over my bra, cupping one on his hand and squeeze softly. "Harder" I whisper.
He listens and squeeze a bit harder and it made me jump for joy. My body is tinge in excitement; his touch is like a drug to me. "You're so good" I moan, my lips never leaving his. In through the heating moment, I could feel the pressure on my head weighing down hard, my vision compromise into a hazy disarray. The pleasure that exhilarate my body disappearing, and before I could react my eyes turn dark.
