Chapter 13: Images

Dan's POV

I really don't know what's happening; I feel angry for Charlie but the weird thing is I never thought any bad of her.

I'm really scared because I don't know why I feel this hatred and I can't seem to stop it. I don't want to lash out at anyone.

"Are you okay?" Chris asked me as we landed on a cliff like surface.

"Fine," I reassured but he didn't look convinced. He raised an eyebrow before turning to the cliffs edge.

It was quite high and looking over I couldn't see the bottom. I don't know what we were supposed to do here but when I turned back to Chris he was behind me.

"Jump!" he said and jumped off of the cliff. I watched him fall until I heard him land under the blanket of cloud hiding the floor.
"Come on Dan,"

"Okay," I replied and took a deep breath before jumping off.

I fell past the clouds and looked down to see the floor closer than I thought. Landing properly was a challenge but weirdly I landed on two feet. Strange.

"You did it!" Chris said and appeared infront of me through the mist.
"That's the first challenge out of 3..."

I nodded and we started walking side by side to the next one which I wasn't looking forward to. I wondered how Chris knew where these were...

"Have you done this before, Chris?" I asked and he sighed keeping his eyes infront of him.

"Did you really think that I wouldn't try? I've tried loads of times but I can never get past the last challenge. PJ probably thinks I haven't tried but I can't remember a day when I haven't..." He explained and I nodded knowing that I would do the same for-

To kill Charlie!

No I'd do the same for Phil.

No you are trying to kill Charlie, then you can worry about Phil!

No I'm finding Phil first! Charlie's my friend I don't want to kill her!

"We're here," Chris stated looking up. Shaking my head, I forgot about my latest thoughts. I did the same to see a giant wall that I guess we have to climb.

"We have to climb this?" I said in shock and he laughed.

"I thought that until I realised that you just have to move around the blocks." He said and walked up to the wall.

Chris moved a few blocks around until he stepped back and watched as the blocks moved to make an archway.

I grinned at Chris as we ran through. As soon as we walked past I felt different. I looked over at Chris to see that he had normal clothes on, no fangs and no Vampire features.

I looked down to see I was wearing the clothes I had died in; my eclipse shirt and my black jeans. Over my shoulder, there weren't any wings.

"Dan?" Chris asked from next to me and I looked at him to realise it was my old friend Chris. Smiling with slight shock I walked over to him.

"Oh my god, What are the odds?" I smiled hugging him. I hadn't seem him since the incident that caused him to die.

"I missed you, I always wondered why you were familiar." he said and we carried on walking not caring that we looked oddly normal.

I hadn't seen Chris for ages so that must be why I didn't recognise him. It will be good to find Phil and PJ-

"CHRIS!" he looked at me with a raised eyebrow and I grabbed his shoulders.
"PJ!"

"What are you talking about?"

"PJ, our friend PJ is your future boyfriend!" I smiled at him and his smile widened.

Chris was on his way to tell PJ that he had feelings for him before he died. I didn't tell PJ but I knew he liked him too. Now maybe they can confess their love for each other.

"What if it is? That would be amazing. I'm so happy now you would not believe!" Chris said hugging me. I hugged back forgetting about Charlie and everyone.

Chris and PJ would be reunited and me and Phil will be reunited aswell. This is going to be the best day of our lives.

I heard the sound of the archway opening suddenly but ignored it. Chris pulled away still smiling and we carried on walking to the last challenge.

Chris never told me what this challenge was so I don't know what to expect but he said that he's never gotten past it.

"What is the next challenge?" I asked him and his smile disappeared. He stopped walking and turned to me.

"Basically, it's your worst fear. Mine is always the same, it's when PJ doesn't recognise me. You won't be able to see my fear but what you have to do is that you have to show no emotions but I always end up crying." Chris looked down and I put a hand on his shoulder.

"Just remember that PJ does know who you are. Charlie told us that he was real and I doubt she would lie." I said but couldn't help but think that was a lie.

I suddenly felt alot different towards Charlie, pure hatred filled my head. Anger and frustration ran through my thinking about her. I didn't know what was happening.

I clutched my head feeling it throb. My mind was going blank with only images of me killing Charlie. Chris was shouting things at me but I could barely hear him.

"Chris, it's happening! It's happening!" I yelled at him grabbing his hands.

"What's wrong?"

"I think I'm starting to get brainwashed!"
