Chapter 9- Planning
Two days passed since the interview and I was confined to my house because of the press, today the magazine interview was due to be released and Paul had told me that tomorrow we would go on a public date, just to back up everything. He had assured me once that would over they would give me and Nathan the space we wanted, and I was counting on what he said to be true.
My mum had gone shopping and I told her to get a copy of Heat as I was dying to see what it said. Nathan and I talked on the phone for hours last night, not even realising time had passed so quickly. He had promised to drop by later today with his manager Jayne to talk about the date tomorrow. Even though it had only been a whole day since I last saw him, I missed his company, so I couldn’t wait to see him later. Mollie and Jay were doing pretty well, they had been on their second date last night and Mollie had rang me jumping in excitement and gushing how much of an amazing guy he was, I was so happy for her, it had been a while since her terrible break-up a few months ago, but I could see she still thought about it, so having Jay there to put a smile on her face and bring her back to her normal self was more than amazing.
The microwave rang signalling my pop tart was ready to eat. I hopped off the chair in the kitchen and went over to get it out. As I was eating the cookie dough piece of heaven my mum walked through the door with her shopping, under her arm I could see the Heat magazine so I ran over and pulled it out, I flicked through the pages until I found the interview. I read the introduction that Emma had wrote-
“I get the call that I am going to interview one of the UK’s hottest boy bands The Wanted and my twitter feed goes crazy with questions for the boys, they are one of the few bands I have met that have daily interactions with their fans and when I meet them I see that they are all down to earth guys who are grateful for their big break. I walk into the room where the interview is taking place to see them in mid group hug, laughing, when they break apart, a petite brown haired girl with large brown eyes appears from the midst, this, I learn is Nathans girlfriend. Jay pats the seat in-between himself and Nathan and she sits, Nathan immediately wrapping his arm around her waist. Throughout the interview their glances at each tell me how much they liked each other, and how she has already made friendship bonds with the other boys.” I skimmed over the questions she asked the boys about the tour and read my answers the questions she gave me. At the end of the interview she did a concluding paragraph so I read that too.
“So it looks like Lucy Harris isn’t fazed by the fact she is dating one fifth of The Wanted and is happy living in the moment. From spending time with them it’s clear to see how much they like each other and I hope the fans can see how happy Nathan is in her company, after all it is the fans that ultimately make or break someone” I finished reading it and glanced at the photo they took of us at the end, Nathan’s arms were wrapped around my waist as we were looking into each other’s eyes laughing, Jay, Max, Siva and Tom also had their arms round us so we were in a group hug, everyone was laughing at something Jay had said. I was happy that Emma thought so highly of me but slightly confused about the last sentence, what did she mean? I get that without the fans they would be lost, but did she really think they wouldn’t like me and make my life a living hell just because I was dating him? I shook my head, I’m sure they will just be happy for him, after all if they really did love Nathan so much they would want him to be happy and if Emma said he was happy with me like I was happy around him it shouldn’t be a problem.
I flicked through the rest of the magazine, not really finding anything interesting to read before flipping it shut. I glanced up to see my mum looking at me.
“Is it alright sweetie?” She asked, I rolled my eyes before replying.
“You tell me mum, I know you’ve already read the interview” She was too predictable.
“Your right, and yes I thought it was really good. I’m so glad the interviewer took a liking to you otherwise we might have read something a whole lot worse, oh and I love the picture of you all together” she said smiling, she was right, I mean I couldn’t complain, everything seemed to be going right at the minute and nothing could bring me down. My thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing – Nathan- I jumped out of my seat and ran to answer it.
I swung the door open with a little bit too much force, and their once again stood Nathan, behind him stood Jayne and Paul was showering off the press- they would get plenty of pictures tomorrow- I stood to the side and let them all in.
“Nathan!” I said when the door closed, his arms wrapped around me as he pulled me into a familiar hug, we both grinned as Jayne and Paul went into the kitchen where my mum had called them asking if they would like a drink.
“It’s so good to see your Lucy! Have you seen the magazine interview?” he asked I grinned and nodded in response.
“Good, everything is going to plan so far, once we go out on our date tomorrow and they snap us together, things will die down and slowly return back to normal” He leaned down to kiss me, our eyes closed as his soft lips pressed to mine, I smiled in-between kisses.
“Can you two cut the PDA please?” Jayne said grinning as we broke apart, I could feel my cheeks blushing and Nathan grimaced at Jayne. Jayne was petite and her main feature was her crazy brown curly hair, it suited her and she smiled pleasantly at me.
“It’s nice to finally meet Nathan's first girlfriend since being in the band” she said and pulled me into a brief friendly hug, Nathan's cheeks blushed a slight pink colour and I giggled slightly.
“It’s great to meet you too” I said truthfully, she had done so much good stuff for this band.
“Let’s go back to the kitchen shall we and discuss about your little date tomorrow?” she asked, we both nodded and Nathan took my hand as we walked the short distance. Once we all sat down Paul picked a piece of paper out of his pocket.
“So, we thought the best place for you to go that’s public is if you firstly go for something to eat in Covent garden as it is a pretty popular place, then if you head to Oxford street for a bit of a couple shopping spree before finally going to Trafalgar square, to just sit and have a gossip and maybe a little bit of PDA” Me and Nathan looked at each other before nodding, it sounded fine, I mean they were all pretty public places so it wasn’t going to be hard for the press to take a few snaps.
“So the plan is Nathan will arrive here at 10am tomorrow, and I will drive you down to Covent garden where you will have the maximum time of an hour and a half, I will then drive you to Oxford street where you will have until three thirty and then finally I will drive you to Trafalgar square where we will leave at five, all the time I will be shadowing you in case the press get a little too much” Paul said.
“Make sure you both hold hands regularly and smile like you’re having the time of your life- although you probably will be- and if you peck each other on the lips I’m sure that would go down well” Jayne said grinning, it was slightly awkward as my mum was listening in on the conversation.
“Are you both okay with that?” Paul asked
“Yeah that’s fine” I said, I was slightly nervous but it was just pre-jitter nerves I was sure about that.
“Yeah, let’s get this show on the road!” Nathan exclaimed, we all laughed, I knew our trip to London wasn’t going to any tourist trip.
