Chapter 20 – A Film Not So Hung-Over

The first day back wasn’t as bad as I had expected, mainly because it was where Nathan and I got back together. The rest of the day I spent walking around with a smile plastered on my face, although everyone knew why. Some girls either gave my death glares or others pretended I was their best friend; I just smiled back not wanting make friends with the wrong people who only wanted to get to know me because of the boys.

Mollie walked out with me to the parking lot when school ended, she was so excited to see Jay tomorrow when the rest of the boys got back from the states – now Nathan and I were back together she hadn’t stopped either gushing about Jay to me, or texting him secretly in lesson, she really did like him a lot. The familiar car I’d been in so many times before with the boys was surrounded by girls shoving notebooks in Nathan’s direction. He looked slightly flustered although he hadn’t seen me yet, it gave me a chance to gaze at him, although not in a stalker way! He wore a cap I’d never seen before I guess he’s got it from America, not that he needed it; he could open a shop with all the hats he had.

He wore a white graphic tee and a pair of blue chinos looking rather handsome while I was stood here in my ugly school uniform, he glanced up from the girls and saw me his face lightening up. My stomach flipped as he smiled and walked over to me before pulling me into a hug, his familiar scent made my grin even wider.

“Have a good day?” he asked pulling away from the hug still smiling

“I did actually, loved the assembly” I said and leaned in pecking him quickly on the lips; I couldn’t resist. I pulled away to see him slightly surprized that I was the one that kissed him first, although I had reason enough because I hadn’t been able to do that in a while.

“That’s good, Mollie do you need a ride back?” Nathan asked as we walked back over to the car, she was smiling looking between  us both and nodded, what goes through her head I really don’t know, maybe that’s why she is so perfect for Jay! We managed to squeeze through the gap of girls and into the car.

“I think you should wear a disguise next time” I said putting on the seatbelt.

“I’ll remember that” Nathan said as we drove out of the school parking lot and onto the high road. We drove back chatting what we should do at the weekend since they boys would be back, although I was still waiting for them to do something amazing so I could forgive them properly. We dropped Mollie back before Nathan drove back to my house so I could change before we went out again.

Once we arrived back I quickly ran up to my room as Nathan talked to my mum in the kitchen, hopefully she wouldn’t embarrass me too much. I chucked my uniform on my bed and threw on a red dress I’d bought from TopShop a few weeks ago, I added a black belt before quickly brushing my hair and teeth before adding a touch of makeup. I glanced in the mirror happy with the final look before grabbing my phone and bag and running down the stairs, when I walked in the kitchen Nathan was laughing at something my mum said which was never a good sign, while drinking a cup of tea. Typical. I looked at them suspiciously trying to figure what they were talking about but didn’t have much luck.

“Ready” I said as Nathan glanced up for the first time, doing a double take before smirking.

“Don’t be out too late, school tomorrow” My mum said as Nathan took my hand we walked out of the door. Nathan led me to the car before doing the gentleman thing of opening the door for me to get in; I thanked him and smiled as walked around to the driver’s side. He didn’t get in the car for a minute because he was typing something on his phone; I pouted and waited for him to get in.

“Who were you texting?” I asked curiously, Nathan raised one eyebrow before smirking once again in my direction.

“Actually I was tweeting” he said putting on his seatbelt and driving down the road, the only thing that was left to do was pull my phone out of my bag and log on to twitter to see what he had said- and that was exactly what I did.
