Chapter 10: Talk under the Stars

The chibified Alex, having sent Verdandi flying towards the tree, smiled proudly at Garm. “Pick someone your own size!”

“Shut up, do you want me to fight you!?” Verdandi said in a dangerous tone.

“Hey I said size. I’m significantly shorter than you!” He said.

“You!!” Skuld sent crystal balls but it all bounced off if Alex like nothing has happened.

He stuck out his tongue. “Alex.” Hel said, she was clinging to Garm’s ear. “Hel!”

“Call Midgarsorm.” Hel said and landed, flicking her black hair.

“Who’s that Pokemon?” Alex said, and Hel knelt and whispered. “AH! OKAY~” He jumped off the building with a stream of light.

“Now. Shall I get dressed for Ragnarok?” Hel said cockily, and she her body was surrounded by black and purple lights, when it vanished, she was wearing a black knight armor, wielding a scythe, and a skull helmet appeared in her head.

“You dare defy us, Queen of Niffleheim!” Urd said. “We control time!!” She stopped time around them.

Hel waved her scythe at Urd, meanwhile Skuld kicked her, she ducked and knocked her flat. She hit Verdandi with her scythe.

Urd healed them by returning time. “You can’t do this by your own, Queen of Niffleheim!”

“I don’t intend to.” Hel smirked.

“Hello~~!! Has everyone come to see me dance?” Alex said, standing on a head of the giant serpent.

“Verdandi, change him back to normal… I’ll die of cuteness.” Skuld says. “You’re the one who did this, but oh fine.” She turns Alex back to normal age.

He sulked. “I can’t believe I just said that…”

“Baldr, you would betray Asgard by siding with this filthy excuses for gods?”

Jormungand bit the roots of the Well of Urd.

“ARE YOU INSANE!?” Urd said. The well started collapsing! “You just doomed us all!”

“Sorry, but my big brother WILL destroy the world once he lets go of his hold into it.” Hel said.

“That’s a clever deception by you filth! Skuld, Verdandi!” The three goddesses flew and started returning time.

Alex raised his hand. “Please, Baldr, I need your power.” With that white light appeared from his hand and blinded the Goddesses of Fate as soon as they’re done. Midgarsorm’s eyes was enough to dwarf the three when their sight returned to them. In an instant, Hel and Jormungand began their assault.

“Spit it out. Who do you work for?” Jormungand said at the tied up goddesses.

“We do not work for anyone!” The three said in unison

“You could’ve fooled us. Is it Loki, Thor or Odin?” Jormungand said.

They looked at each other. “Freya.” They all said and held their heads down.

“Why does that beauty queen hate us so much?” Hel crossed her arms, and she was leaning on Alex’ shoulder, the Ragnarok Armor was tiring to wear. It nearly sapped her entire energy.

“Maybe because you’re even more beautiful.” Alex said to her, and he earned a punch in the face. “OUCH!!! THAT HURT!!” He was rolling in pain in the floor, while the three goddesses of fate raised their eyebrows. “Pathetic excuse for the reincarnation of Baldr.”

That night, Alexander was staring at the stars, his handsome face lit by the full moon. He fiddled with his fingers, the thing he used to do when he’s nervous. Tomorrow, at dawn, he is going to Asgard. Asgard, of all places. He was always fascinated by Norse Mythology, even though he doesn’t want to admit it. Girls fall to their knees with his smile. That was the life he was used to. Now, everything had changed. He was getting beat up by a chick, working for her, and was also Baldr, the god that he never paid attention to.

“Something’s bothering you I guess?” A cold but sweet and soothing voice said.

“I’m just, I don’t know, can’t take this all in. I tried to pretend I can manage, but I really can’t.”

Hel stepped beside him and looked at his face. “You’re Baldr, the most liked god in history of Yggdrasil.”

“Except for one, or four.”

Hel smiled. “Who, me, Jormungand, Fenrir and Loki?”

“Yeah. Loki killed Baldr.”

“That doesn’t mean we hate you.”

He smiled at her and tried to change the subject.

“So, why isn’t there a King of Niffleheim.” He said scooting closer to her.

“I don’t see why I should get a king…” she said and looked away. “And why are you asking me that all the sudden?”

He shrugged then laughed. “You don’t know anything about love? Is that why?” He grinned at her teasingly.

“N-NO! I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!” She screamed at him while blushing.

“I bet you don’t.” He looked at her purple eyes with his blue eyes.

“Are you defying me?” She said with a dark aura.

“No I’m not!” he said backing away from her, before earning a punch in the face.
