Ch. 17- Lust for Love

-Dan's POV-

-4 Months Later-

It has been four months since I last talked to Nikki. I have tried calling and texting her but no response back. I truly feel like I messed up badly and I did. I just want to talk to her and tell her how I feel about her. During these months, I haven't fed and the blood moon is next week. I will be feeding that I would be craving her blood them more the day grows near. 

After I left her house that night, I stayed at Jack's place. He didn't mind but I had nowhere else to stay. "Hey Dan, have you been feeding?" He sounded a bit concerned. I shook my head. "Your eyes are red...but a lot darker. Almost black." Now I was more afraid. I stood up and looked in the mirror by the front door. They are a deep red but almost black. 

"This is not a good thing." I knew jack had some blood bags as an emergency for me. I go to the kitchen and open the fridge. There was only one blood bag in here. I took it and bit down on it and sucked up the whole thing in seconds. This bag wasn't gonna last me until the blood moon. I need more. 

"Jack, where do you think I can get more?" I was really getting thirsty for more. I never had this type of craving in many years since I was turned. 

That when I saw Jack's neck that he started running out of the house. I smiled and went after him. I was craving more and more of it. "Get back here! Let me feed from you!!" I yelled, now sounding insane. What is wrong with me?!

-Nikki's POV- 

Mark was watching a movie when I was reading a book. I never knew that reading could be a very calming thing, distracting my head and thoughts of Dan. I really enjoy it dearly. 

"Nikki do you want some w-." Mark was interrupted by Jack running through the door, shutting and locking it behind him. He was breathing fast like he was running. "Jack, what's wrong?" I said, sounding worried for him. "Dan's feeding response! He hasn't fed in months!" Jack said, shaking. Dan was still here? I thought he went back to his sister in the UK. This was making me even more scared.

"Jack, get her upstairs. I'll take care of him." Jack nods and takes my hand and takes me upstairs in a panic. I heard the front door pounding and he was here fast. Jack then pulls me into a room that was safe from vampires. It has everything from garlic to crosses and more. He knows a way of protecting me from monsters. 

"Nikki. Come out of there." It was Dan. I didn't move nor did Jack. We both stayed quiet, hoping he would just walk away but I would hear his breathing. My breath was shaking heavy that I know he would hear it. "Nikki, please?" My body was moving towards the door but Jack pulled me back. Why can't I move my body? It was like Dan was controlling it. "Nikki, snap out of his grip. He wants your blood." But I can't move my body, Jack. I'm stuck in his grip.

My body started moving again that I went up to the door and slowly turned the handle. 'Dan, please stop this. You will kill me.' I said in my thought. the door was being pulled open and in the doorway was Dan. He was covered in blood that I felt sick. 

"Nikki, take me back." That was when he gently rubbed my cheek. I was shaking from his touch. I want to get away but he still had a grip on my body. "Dan, don't do this. Just let me go." He didn't listen to me as he went to my neck and licked it. It gave me chills down my body that I was kind of liking it. Nikki pull yourself together, he wants your blood not your moans. He looked at me, fangs fully showing. He was very hungry for my blood. 

"Dan..." I was crying, knowing he will truly end my life. "If you can hear me, I want to tell you that I love you." His eyes were flashed from black to his natural ocean blue eyes for a split second. Is he trying to control his monster? "Dan, fight it. I want to see your eyes again." I tell him that he backed off from me. 

"Nikki, it's working! Keep talking!!" Jack said. I nodded. "Dan, don't let it take over! I want to come back to you!! I miss you Dan!!" He was holding his head, starting to struggle. His monster was more stronger than Dan. He didn't want to be brought down just for his lust to take over again and want to kill. "Nikki, kiss him! Maybe that will really get him back!" Kiss him. Jack's right! He still loves me and I still love him!

I get close to him, knowing that this is my one chance of saving him. He looks at me, his eyes still flashing from blue to black every second or so. "Dan, I miss you." As I forced my lips onto his. My eyes were full of tears that they all were falling down my cheeks. 

He was getting control of his body that the monster was being forced out of his soul. I didn't want to lose him again. I felt his hands grabbing my waist that he was now kissing me back. The monster was fully pulled out of his body that it vanishes into thin air. 

I pulled back a bit, looking at Dan's blue eyes very close. His eyes were so dreamy. "Nikki, you did it. You broke the monster inside. I'm human again." He smiled and kissed me again. I really did it. I got him back to his normal self. 

"Dan, I'm sorry I left you. Do you forgive me?" I ask him as he got down on one knee. What? "Nikki, be with me forever. Will you marry me?" He pulls out a little box and opens it, showing a beautiful Blood Diamond ring. I was in tears and nodded. "Yes, Dan!! I'll marry you!" I hugged him. I will be the happiest girl in the world with my love for the rest of our days.
