{Elly's POV}
A large bang was heard from my front door. Turning around I saw Lia walk inside with rain dripping from her hair.
"Hey?" I said, but it was spoken more like a question. She was shivering and I thought I could see a tear drop from the corner of her eye, but it soon collided with the rain.
"What?!" Lia screamed in my face as soon as my words left my mouth. "What do you want?!"
"I-I'm sorry... I only wanted to know if your alright..." my voice went in and out as her glare settled on my face.
"Yeah, sure! I'm just fine!" Her voice raised as she attempted sarcasm, "I was REJECTED by the school's prankster, but you know I'm just fine!"
"I'm so sorry, Lia!" I walked towards her to engulf her in a hug, "you deserve better then him, anyways! He's so mean!" I exclaimed while hugging her.
"You're only saying that because he pranks you and scares you. He doesn't do that to me... He's sweet and funny." Lia sighs at the end of her sentence but soon breaks out of her delusion, "And will never be mine..."
"It's alright, Lia. Everything will be okay!" I nodded as I let go and took a step back, "Dinner is in the oven, go eat. I'm going to the elementary school to meet up with Lu."
"Why is she there?" Lia asked, yet a slight begrudging tone could be heard.
"To pick up her cousin from band." I explained while walking towards the door, "I'll be back with Lu in about twenty minutes. Save some dinner! Bye!" I said as I closed the door behind me.
I walked inside the elementary school, immediately remembering the old times. My legs automatically walked towards my old teacher's room, Mr. Reed. He was my favorite teacher in second grade. His speeches sure were boring but his assignments were great! He was a huge theatre geek while I was here, so all our homework had a theatre twist to it. I guess he is half the reason I'm interested in theatre today!
A small click could be heard as the curtains fully opened. Claps echoed through the theatre when I walked out on stage. There was no one but little me. I was slightly shaking but tried my best to act normal.
"What would my parents say if they knew where I am? Would they be proud? Would they be mad?" I said while walking downstage. "Would they scold me like I was a child?" Other children walked onto the stage while talking in the background. Soon I walked to the side and sat on a fluffy, red chair.
"Be like your sister, be like your brother, be like your cousin and best friend! Yet, all I want to be is me!" Lu walked downstage slightly breaking character to laugh, "Stop telling me to be them when they are only acting!" She went and sat next to me.
Many more children had stepped up to say their monologues until the last child sat down. We all suddenly stood and said a line together, "Why can't they be proud?!" Soon one by one we would bow and walk off stage, I would go last. As soon as I walked up to bow, I tripped on my dress and fell on my face causing the theatre to erupt in laughter. I immediately ran away, crying.
Two hours later I had finally left the bathroom and begun to walk towards the theatre. At this point in time my parents didn't care for my love of theatre, so I would've been walking home anyways. Right before I could walk out the door I saw Mr. Reed. I tried to hide but he found me.
"Hey, don't hide from me, little missy!" He walked up to me and patted my shoulder. "Don't cry, you did great!"
"B-But I fell..." I said, once again tearing up.
"So? I fall all the time!" We both laughed as he turned me around, "Head outside, you made someone wait for you awhile, no matter what we said he wouldnt leave without you!" He gently pushed me outside to face Mar.
"Hello?" A males voice called out, "Are you kids still wandering the school-" he was cut off as soon as he saw me. "Elly?"
"Mr. Reed!" I exclaimed while waving. He looked dumbfounded as he waved back, "it's been so long!"
"Yeah, it sure has. how have you been?" He asked while slightly laughing.
"I'm great, still as into theatre as ever! I'm even planning on auditioning for the upcoming play!" I slowly got more and more enthusiastic as I started to talk about theatre.
"I'll be sure to come see it, then." He said while smiling. If it's not obvious, I was the teachers pet! I got good grades and eventually became his teacher's aide in fifth through sixth grade. Mr. Reed is like that fun uncle that gives you ice cream and whatever else you ask for!
"Don't take this as an insult, but I have to go find Lu!" I said while backing away, "Because she's more fun then you!" I then turned around running through the halls all the way to the band hall.
"What took you so long?" Lu asked as I walked towards her.
"I saw Mr. Reed!" My smile widened as she glared at me.
"You always were his teacher's pet..." she grumbled as we began to walk towards the door, Lu gave her cousin a piggyback ride.
"Yeah, Yeah! Keep complaining! You're just mad that Mr. Reed didn't like you!" I laugh as she continued to glare and walk faster.
"He gave me bad grades and always scolded me!" She yelled as her feet stumbled and almost led to her falling. I caught her just in time, though.
"That's because you wouldn't turn in your homework and always ran around the classroom causing a ruckus!" I skipped ahead, opening her front door. "Now put the child down and leave her here! It's time to head to my house!"
"Alright, let's go!" She exclaimed after placing her cousin in the house and locking the door before shutting it.
A/n- I wanted to go into a little detail over why she is into theatre. And of course we have to add Mar in there somehow! Thanks for reading! Bye-bye!
