{Lu's POV}
Mr. Wyckoff led us into this small room with many curtains. An area was set off to the side with couchs for cold reading I suppose. As soon as we entered the room the air changed from anxiety to something else. A stinging sensation ran up my arm as he closed the door. Something didn't feel right.
"Well, I'm happy to see so many girls trying out for this years play! I know you all will try out for our musical, too, right?" He was smiling while trying to joke with us. I never have been able to get over this guys creepy face. Most girls swoon over him but not us. The outcasts. We know better. None of us laughed at his joke.
"Before we begin I would like to announce the fact that our plans have changed. We once decided to do 'The Picnic' but now it seems that 'It's a Wonderful Life' is in our budget so that is our play. Let us begin!" Mr. Wyckoff swiftly adds in the change of plays which gave us no chance to leave or disagree. We were stuck here to do his bidding. What a day!
"Ms. Williams, you'll be Mary, the wife. Ms. Valentin will be Mrs. Bailey, the mother. Ms. Gum will be Janie, the daughter..." Off he went listing people to be in roles. I only listened for mine. Mary, anyone's dream role to be the wife of the main character. So why did a sophomore like me get it in this cold reading? Must be talent!
"And begin!" He clapped and off we went on the train of cold reading.
"Help my son George tonight." Ni spoke first.
"I love him, dear lord watch over him tonight." This was my line. Next was Elly as we continued the cold read through.
"I've been saving this money for a divorce, if I ever get a husband." Ar spoke just as Mr. Wyckoff stopped us.
"Thank you everyone for your amazing cold reading. It is time to announce the parts!"
You could hear whats and gasps as he said this. How could he know who he wants so soon?!
We only went through one group. Was he really so unthoughtful as to believe all of his cast is in this group?! Sure, that meant that every single one of us would get a part but what about the girls who didn't cold read? There is around twenty of them. Jules, Kara, Mary, and Madeline all stood at the same time as they glared at Mr. Wyckoff and took off to drill team practice most likely. Many followed them as those of us who read sat still, awaiting his announcement.
"Finally." He spoke as all of us sucked in a breath, "I thought all those fake girls would never leave!" His snarky remark left us in the dirt as we struggled to catch up while he continued on his rant. "Those who don't take theatre seriously enough to be satisfied with a background role will never be true thespians! Let these girls be examples of failures. They will never be a lead role at this high school as long as I am the theatre director. Unworthy. That is the only word I could ever use to describe a-"
"Cruel." A female said.
"What?" He looked around with a glare present on his face.
"You are nothing but cruel. Maybe thoughtless too. What do you think we'll do with this information? Do you truly believe it will never spread? Or are you just too dim-witted to understand how a high school works?!" The girl happened to be someone in the outcasts. Ni. What is she doing?!
"Of course I know how a high school works, little girl. But do you know how a career works? An acting one?"
Before he could continue Ni had begun speaking. "Maybe not. Maybe I don't know how a professional acting career works. But I do know how a teaching one does. And I also happen to know a whole lot of rumors about you, Mr. Wyckoff. Tell me, was it really the janitor at your old school who set up cameras in the girls bathroom. Were you really being framed because they led to your office computer? Or was it you all along who was framing the janitor?" Ni had p ushed out of the room as her voice got louder and the assistant to Mr. Wyckoff, a young adult by the name of John Corder, led her to some other place.
Everyone was surprised by the outlash, Ni had never done anything like that before. Me. Wyckoff sighed and waved his hand while grumpily stating that he would put a cast list up tomorrow. Almost all of the girls got up and left as Elle and I stared back at each other with a look of alarm and immediately ran off towards the main building. At that moment we knew that we were thinking the same thing. What was Ni talking about?
Eventually we foind Ni in the female restroom with her knees to her face. Although initially we thought she was crying we realized it was nothing like that. Her eyes were terrifying with the glint of hatred and want. The only thing that slipped out of her lips when she saw us was "I will ruin him and his stupid theatre career." Elle and I watched as she placed her head on her knees once more before exchanging a worried glance. What is happening here?

Oopsy daisy... I might have run out of anything to put because of my sheer hate of this guy and want for him to die and simply rushed the plot a little.... I mean, it isn't like no one expected this but he is pretty sucky and just needs to leave!!!! I suppose you guys will learn what is on Ni's mind when we get another break. Don't know how long that is but eventually. Thanks for reading! Bye-bye!!!
