Two years later

The war was called off and Griffinstone and Aeras declared a truce. Shortly afterward, after quite a number of protests and demonstrations, Queen Irene was overthrown and a new leader, Queen Rosaleigh, her cousin took over. Relations between Aeras and Griffinstone had never been better.

Alfred Paige, who somehow survived the battle, had spent a few months in the ICU and as soon as he was well enough, he was imprisoned for his crimes against humanity. What makes Jasmine happy is that he'll forever feel a pain when he breathes, he'll never be allowed to forget all he's done.

Luckily for her, everyone she held closest to her had survived, some severely injured but alive. All except for one... Winifred Delilah Clarimond.

The Hellfire Corps had a huge bonfire after the battle, to celebrate victory, to remember those who didn't make it.

Eluard and Jasmine stuck together after that and lived with Gabriel who was kind enough to put up with the two of them plus Brooke as they all waited for the Hellfire Corps to be rebuilt. The first months after the battle were filled with a lot Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which was the hardest part of it all. Reliving everything in her dreams was not helping her healing at all. But Eluard was there, and they helped each other through a great deal of it. Jasmine kept Tabitha even after the battle because she was given to her by Winifred, her mother. And that helped with nightmares and dreams alike.

She'd gotten a great job as a barista at a coffee stand at the market while waiting for the Corps to re-open, Luke and Cam being her most regular customers. Eluard had made a living for himself as a martial arts teacher at a school. It was cute watching him playing with kids. Roxanne and Andrew had announced their engagement at the New Year's party after the battle and the small ceremony was still yet to happen. She picked Jasmine as one of her bridesmaids which shocked her- and that's putting it lightly.

In this current day in time it was the second anniversary of the battle, and as the two of them had agreed, Eluard and Jasmine were headed to the memorial that had been put up, flowers in hand.- specifically delilahs.

Stepping out of the car, she took in the sight of the military cemetery. They both walked over to the marble memorial wall. Winifred's name was carved on the bottom left corner then filled in with red because Winifred would never want to be like everybody else- it was just how she was.

They both set their flowers down and stood in a moment of silence for the fallen. Eluard had an arm draped over her shoulder as the two of them looked at the wall. After a while Eluard pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Think it's time to leave before it gets dark?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'll meet you there in a moment," she said, gaze not leaving the wall.

"Then I'll be waiting here with you."

He rubbed her back reassuringly.

"I miss her... a lot," muttered Jasmine as she put her hands in her pockets.

She felt a piece of paper and pulled it out confused.

I missed you too Jasmine

Jasmine rubbed her eyes, thinking it was some sort of trick her mind was playing on her.

"What? What is it?" asked Eluard worriedly.

She heard a twig snap behind her and she immediately turned around. Who she saw caused her to cover her mouth with her hands, fresh tears brimming in her eyes. Eluard was silent, his mouth hanging open. Her long black coat looked as fabulous as ever.

"Hello, Jasmine, Ellie. I see you've let my ship sail," she greeted.

"Winifred" gasped Jasmine, a smile now playing on her lips.
"But how?" asked Eluard in disbelief.
"I'm a sorceress, duh."
