**| North's POV |**

I couldn't get her fucking face out of my head. Her big green eyes, the chubby cheeks as she grinned. Her laughter. I swear, only angels could laugh the way she did. It was church bells on a cold Sunday morning with snow blanketing the ground.

Shit, I was turning into a girl, or sounding like Silas.

I gripped the steering wheel of my jeep as I headed home for the family meeting. Owen was finally going to bring this to the team and as a family, we were going to decide the best course of action.

Of course, the only fucking right course of action was hopping on a plane and going to Germany.

We all have that one regret, that one thing that happened in our past and followed us wherever we went. Sang baby was my regret. And now that things have settled down and we found a comfortable routine, it was time to fix that.

I remembered the last time I saw her as if it just happened an hour ago. She was always so small and she never grew in the nearly three years I've known her. But that time, something in her broke. I saw it in the way she smiled and waved goodbye as my dick of a father dragged me into the taxi and towards the airport. What was worse was the bruising around her neck. She never had bruising around her neck before.

I tried to fight back when he took me away from her. I tried to break his hold on me, to get back to her, to hold her and tell her everything was going to be okay. That I was going to protect her.

What did I get instead? Two broken ribs and a mild concussion.

And I failed her. I couldn't protect her from shit as an eleven year old. I couldn't even protect myself. And she was left to the machinations of whoever put those bruises around her neck.

I came out of my thoughts as I pulled into my team's long driveway and a couple minutes later I pulled up to the gate. I hit the button to open the gate and then drove through, parking next to a grey BMW. The rest of the cars were there too so I knew I was the last to arrive.

The front door opened and Luke came flying out, his blond hair trailing behind him. He had let his hair grow out these last couple of years and usually had it up into one of those man buns. Today, it was partially down with the top portion pulled back into a braid that ended in a ponytail.

"Bro!" he said with a wide grin as he walked over. "What took you so long? No one is telling me anything until you get here," he huffed.

I cocked an eyebrow and his expression fell, making me feel like shit. I knew I wasn't treating him right. My moodiness was affecting him the most out of everyone but I couldn't help it. I couldn't get out of my damn head to focus on anyone else.

"Come on," I grumbled and headed inside with Luke trailing behind me. We went into the massive house and to the right where a large living room was. We held most of our family meetings here. Everyone was already waiting, talking amongst themselves.

When I came in, they quieted down and I took a seat in one of the chairs, leaning back and resting my eyes for a moment.

"Since everyone is here, let's get the meeting started," Owen said and I focused on him, hating how my heart was beating in aniticipation. After this, I can head to Germany. I can find Sang baby.

"Why are we meeting?" Sean asked, looking confused.

"We have a family mission," Owen said.

"What family mission?" Gabriel asked, looking around the room at everyone. A year ago he had chopped off his hair after being tired of taking care of long hair and then added in blond streaks to it. His blue eyes looked over everyone before pausing on me and narrowing. "Oy, North, is this meeting finally going to explain why you've been a fucking prick lately?"
