Then next week. Bryan threw me a surprise welcome home party that was held at his uncle's club. All my friends were there. And well we had a good time. I had a few shots but not enough to make me crazy drunk but enough for me to dance on the table even though there's a big chance I might fall of the table considering I was wearing 3 and a half inch heels. All my girl friends cheereed for me while some of the boys whistled. I didn't care about how revealing I was since my goal was just to enjoy and nothing else.

I woke up in my bed not knowing who brought me here. I was still in my last night's clothes. Even though I only had a few drinks...the hangover was pretty annoying and painful. My eyes felt heavy and there was a loud throbbing in the back of my head. I groaned as I looked at myself in the mirror. One word: Ugh! I looked awful. My hair looked like a bird's nest and some of my make up were pretty messed up. There was a small smudge of lipsitck in the left corner of my upper lips. I took a bath pretty quickly. And then after that I headed downstairs to eat my breakfast. To my surprise my mom was still seating there looking fresh and happy while reading this month's Vogue magazine. She looked up from her magazine and smiled at me while I approaced her.

"Hey mom, what did Pier cook today?" I asked referring to Pier as our head and personal chef in the mansion.

"Oh just the usual honey. Some waffles and orange juice. You arrived pretty late last night, did you have fun?" my mom asked while smiling at me with warm eyes. I could tell there was something nice going on.

"Yeah I did actually. Do you know who brought me home?" I asked.

"It was Bryan dear," mom replied her eyes burning with happiness.

"Okay mom what seems to be the good news right now?" I asked.

A small flicker in her eyes appeared as she looked at me with loving care.

"I'm engaged to someone," mom said.

Then suddenly everything instantly froze. Engaged?! She was just divorced a year ago?! Was my mom still sane?! Oh god! Who was the guy? Why hadn't mom told me about this or even called me while I was having my alone time? What has she been doing while I was away? My hangover worsen as I began to have a major 5 alarm headache.

"Engaged?! To whom?!" my voice almost sounded like a hiss as both my hands massaged the temples of my forehead.

"Now, don't be so shocked honey. You know it was only a matter of time before I found someone new and I know well that you need a father figure," my mom said.

My mouth was gaping open as I processed the thought of my mom already engaged...but where is the ring? I'm sure this guy was a smart one since she convinced my mom to say yes. Did he even know that she was newly divorced?

"Who is he?" I asked as my eyes became wider every second.

My mom gave me a secretive smile and reached across the table to stroke  my hair.

"You'll meet him tomorrow night," my mom said.

Then suddenly my appetite for breakfast was gone and I excused myself out of breakfast and headed to Bryan's place to tell him the news.

"Engaged?! Is your mom still sane?!" Bryan said he got out of the bathroom with a towel hanging in his shoulders so his wet blonde hair wouldn't soak his shirt.

"I know! I knew mom would move on but I wasn't expecting her to move on too fast!" I said as I threw my hands up.

"Do you know who the guy is?" he asked.

"Well yeah about that she said I'll meet him tomorrow night. Ugh! I wonder how this will work out. I don't really want mom to get hurt...again. Moving too fast can make you crash..." I sighed sadly knowing I can sort of relate to what I was saying about crashing.
