It was lunch time and all four of us (me, Bryan, Britney and Jessica) headed to the dining hall which held all the delicious food made by chefs all around the world. Even at my first step in the dining hall I could already smell the deliciousness of the food. I would lick the air if I could without looking like an idiot but I knew I had to go to the counter to get the real deal. My stomach grumbled at the scent of Mare e Monte pasta burning in my nose. How I miss the food in our dining hall! Bryan led us to our usual table by the big window that had a nice view of the rose and lily garden.
"So who kept the baby, Deenfort?" someone said from behind my back and the voice sounded really familiar.
All my friend's head shot up and was ready to back me up. I turned around to see Mia smirking at me. Ah Mia, she still hasn't changed. Still the same cold hearted bitch that made everyone's life in school a living hell.
"Excuse me?" I said innocently.
"You know what I'm talking about. Didn't you get pregnant and give birth last year" Mia said in a loud voice, enough to be heard by many.
I laguhed coldly.
"You don't know what you're talking about, Mia. I didn't get pregnant. Why don't you leave me and never bother me again like what your mom did to you!" I said.
Then somehow for a second she seemed vulnerable. I could see here blinking back tears and trying not to look teary eyed in front of the student body. I didn't even feel an ounce of guilt in my heart. Since I knew she deserved it. She was the one who spread the crazy rumors and I have to deal with them and it's going to take a while once the student body will not bother in making it a big deal already. I looked at Mia expectantly waiting for her snap back but she just stood there dumbfounded.
"I haven't got all day Mia. Are you done?" I asked making my tone sound icy.
"You're going to pay for this, Deenfort," Mia said gravely.
I stood up and faced her face to face and gave her an amused expression.
"Go ahead. I have a lot of connections here in Halter one wrong move, Mia and your family's reputation might crumble...besides I know how your father hates it when you embarass your family name," I said and then with that she flipped her blonde hair and marched away together with her group tailing on her.
Then I sat down again and took a deep breath.
"Wow you're colder today," Nana said looking impressed at the scene she had just witnessed a second ago...actually everyone was.
"She's the one who spread the rumors about me right?" I asked.
"Most of it," Bryan said as he took a bite of his meat meal.
"You're a fighter Britney," Jessica said in adoration.
"Yeah, but I might get my ass kicked sooner or later, Mia really knows how to serve revenge," I sighed.
"Don't worry as I said we're going to stick by your side," Nana promised.
"Thanks for the reassurance," I said.
"No problem," Nana said smiling at me.
"Umm and I'm sorry you had to witness that scene Jessica, I'm not really sure if you're used to this back at your-"
"Oh don't worry. Yeah I do witness these type of things in my old school in England but I try my best to avoid them," Jessica said as she cut me off.
I suddenly dropped my fork and left my mouth gaping open.
"Then it's a bad thing that you're hanging with me," I pointed out.
She smiled kindly at me but I could see the sudden hurt in her eyes.
