Chapter 5

"At the start of school I decided to use the car Charles gave me. It was kind of nice and flashy but it wasn't really my type but since it was a gift I had to use it. I parked near the school gate and got out of my car. I had on a black blazer with a a gray folded part at the end and a white sando at the bottom I was wearing ripped shorts and peach high heels. I kept my shades in my leather bag and started walking towards the school. Britney Deenfort was back and everyone knew it. Most of the people I had walk through had their eyes on me and couldn't seem to take them away. I smirked at their adoration for me but kept walking. I passed Mia and her bitchy group who were eyeing me with envious looks although they wouldn't admit it. They were whispering to one another. Still making rumors about me I figured. I entrered the hallways and was greeted by silence as everyone stopped talking and turned to look at me. They were somehow shock to see me again. I gave them a smile and searched for Nana and Bryan.

"She's back," I heard soemone say.

"And still hot," I said another one say.

Everyone gave me approving looks.

"Hey Britney!" a familliar voice greeted me and I turned around and found myself looking at Jessica who's hand was lace together with Chad.

"Oh hi there," I said.

"Hey Britney," Chad said his blue eyes meeting mine.

Almost everyone who knew that Chad and I broke up ( although they didn't know who broke up with who or what was the reason behind it..well some of them don't know the real truth), they gasped probably expecting a drama or cat fight scene between me and Jessica. But unfortunatley for them I wasn't going to give them satisfaction besides Jessica was a nice girl she's just with the wrong guy.

"Um yeah hi. Have you seen Nana and Bryan?" I asked trying to keep my voice cool and friendly even though it was a bit awkward for me.

"No...not yet. I didn't know you were so popular here Britney!" Jessica said and smiled widely.

"Well yeah but it doesn't really matter, do you wanna join us for lunch...I mean if you want to...I can totally understand if you want to eat with Chad," I said. I was really just showing everyone that I can be cool with Chad seeing another girl in fact I even invited her to eat lunch with us!

"Yeah sure! Actually Chad's just going to attend classes in the morning since his dad asked him to help him on some things about the upcoming wedding...oh Chad I can't wait for us to have our wedding too!" Jessica gushed sounding genuinely excited. She must really love him I guess. 

"Okay that sounds great," I said.

"Less than a month right now you and Chad are going to become step siblings and after a month I turn eighteen we'll be sister-in-law's! ," Jessica continued.

"Yeah I guess so," I said.

So they waved me good bye and I couldn't help but notice Chad looking troubled. Was he finally fee;ing guilty about trying to kiss me last night? But him guilty? Would that even happen?

I started making my way to my locker. I felt someone tap my soulder and I instantly turned around to see Bryan having his usual smirk that always made the girls scream or giggle. It was his bait as a player.

"Hey Bry," I said.

"Nana hasn't arrived yet has she?" he asked.

"Nope not yet," I replied.

"Have you encoutered Chad and Jessica?" he asked.

"Actually I did. I even told her to eat lunch with us," I said.

"That's great of you. Uh...you're not planning on hater her are you?" he asked catiously.

"No. Jessica is a nice girl. Although I'm worried if Chad will cheat on her, she will be so hurt. I mean she really loves Chad," I said.

"What if Jessica is the one for Chad?" he stated.

Okay so I involountarily closed my locker vey hard and made a very loud bang.

"Whoa! You're over him remember? Don't be jealous now!" he said.

"Hey I'm not it was just an accident!" I said.

"Okay okay," he said.

"Do you know when is Jessica's birthday?" I asked.

"Why?" he asked.

"One month after her birthday they are going to get married with Chad," I explained.

"And you're intrested because..." he said clearly lost.

"I'm just curious when it is. Or if they even will, what if Chad will cheat on her?" I asked.

"Okay no offense but why are you assuming strongly that Chad will cheat on Jessica?" he asked.

"Becuase-"

"Becuase he cheated on you? Well what if he changed Brit, everyone changes and besides Jessica is his finacee that means he's serious about her," he said.

"He tried to kiss me Bryan! And he told me that I was the perfect someone for him but why would he cheat on me?" I added silently.

"He did?" Bryan asked in astonishment.

"Yeah he did. I scolded him and told him that you already have a fiancee and that you're never going to find that perfect someone for you if you kept being a player but he told me I was the perfect someone,"I explained and felt my shoulders weight lighten. It was like as soon as I told Bryan what happened something was lifted from me and I felt a little better.

"Then why would he...it could be arrange marriage," he guessed.

"I wanna tell Jessica the truth," I told him.

"No don't. I told you let's wait and see what happens," he reminded me.

"But-

"And why do you care anyway if Jessica get's hurt?"

"Becuase she doesn't deserve it! She's a very nice person!"

"Come on Brit please you have to trust me on this. Please don't tell Jessica. This us only a 50 50 chance that Chad will cheat on her," he pleaded.

"But-

"Think of it this way: what if they are really meant for each other but you went anyway and told Jessica the truth then what would happened you'd e the one who would make her feel heartborken and soon enough they'd call the engagement off," he said.

"Gosh this is complicated," I groaned.

"Just be patient," he said.

Do I really care for Jessica? Do I still have feelings for Chad? Of course not! Not anymore I don't! Besides he's going to be my brother in less than a month. So there's no use in having feelings for him. Not that I have though!
