I retold everything that Keith told me about Charles. I was out of breath as soon as I was done telling him everything. I looked at Chad closely and he seemed to becoming more paler as each second passed by. His balled his fists at his side and stood rigidly.
"That asshole," Chad said as a growl erupted from his chest.
"Glad we share the same point of view of your father," I said.
"And to think he actually cared about...your dad passing away," he said.
I almost choked at the mention of my dad. I was going to miss him so bad. He was going to be my only dad and not Charles.
"I swear I have to find out who shot my dad, I'm going to give them the hell of their lifetime," I said.
"And I'm going to help you with that," Chad hissed.
"Chad, you know I still love you," I said as I felt my cheeks burst with redness. I wasn't aware of what I was saying and the part where my heart was racing fast wasn't helping either.
He looked at me with his clear blue eyes that softened at this moment and came closer to the bed I was was sitting in and put an arm around me.
"I love you too Britney always have and always will," he said as he leaned in and kissed me lightly in the lips.
I was tempted to not pull away but I was afraid of what was going to happen considering that we were alone in a hotel room. And of course the full reason that he and I were kind of siblings, so that made our situation clearly difficult.
"Don't forget that we are kind of a pair of siblings right now," I said.
"Not for long, aren't you going to tell your mom about Charles? Or do you want me to tell her?" he asked pulling me closer to him.
I didn't resist his embrace and leaned closely on him. My head was rested on his chest as he leaned in one of the poles supporting the canopy of the bed. I was still for a moment as I listened to his rythmic heartbeat.
"I know I have to tell her but I don't think now is the right time," I said.
"So when do you think is the right time?" he asked.
"I don't really know," I said.
"We have to tell her soon," he said as he rubbed my shoulder with his hand.
"And what next? Do you think Charles is going to let this go? I swear that I can't bare it if Charles is going to shoot anymore people," I said as I covered my face and the scene of my dad coughing up blood replayed in my mind. I thought I was going to cry but it turns out I was mistaken. My heart felt heavy but there was also this emptiness inside me. It all seemed confusing to me but I was glad Chad was here and I was able to clear and sort my feelings for him. I loved him and nothing was going to change that.
"I'll kill him," he said.
I looked up as my eyes widened at him."Chad you can't he's your dad," I said.
"He might as well be in hell right now. I'm not going to dinner," he said.
I looked up at him,"Ugh, I just realize now that both of us skipping our first family dinner would kind of looked suspicious to Charles so let's just play it off and tell Bryan and Nana the whole thing tomorrow...Keith is going to come with me to help me explain," I said.
I heard him grunt for a moment "I don't know," he said.
"Come on...please do it for me?" I pleaded.
"Alright but I swear it's not my fault if I randomly snap at my father," he said.
Surprisingly the dinner went well. Mom was happy and gushed about how proud she was of me and Chad. Had it even occured to her what happened between us two years ago? Charles seemed delighted but his cold eyes were only noticeable to me and Chad. I glared at him whenever mom and him would talk. Charles was good at faking but someone had to break the news to mom, but not until I talk to Bryan and Nana about this. I felt like it was my obligation to tell them every ounce of happening that was in my life. Since they seemed to give me the most useful advice they could muster up (Bryan especially). After the dinner Charles insisted that I stay here even if I had to use the not yet personalized bedroom of mine which you can safely call a guest room. Night wear wasn't a problem to me since the maids already provided me with one. I was in the guest room preparing my things for sleeping and was combing my hair until every last strand was straight. My heart did a little flip when I saw Chad leaning causally on the frame of my door while wearing a white sando and sweat pants, even if the outfit he was wearing was simple it kind of constrained his upper body and shaped his muscles making him even more hotter.
