Cara's POV:
I unlocked the door after the long tiring day and walked in. I dropped my bag on the couch and sat down rolling my shoulders.
"Matt!" I called his name leaning back and closing my eyes.
After a few moments of silence I repeated his when I didn't get a response.
"Matt?" I sat up looking around.
I got up confused and went up to his room where I could here the sound of the television.
I knocked on his door, "Matt?"
When I again didn't get a response I turned the knob softly walking in.
I was greeted with the usually messy room and rolled my eyes sighing.
I looked around but he was no where in sight. I drew my eyebrows together in confusion and switched the television off. I looked in side his bathroom but he was not there too.
I looked at the clock which showed 9:30 pm. and a wave of panic overwhelmed me.
"Matt!?"
I looked in other rooms and went downstairs looking in the kitchen and basement but he was no where.
Where did this boy go at this hour?!
I grabbed my scarf walking out of the door and searched for him in the front yard but no!
This boy!
I gritted my teeth and locked the door. I walked down the lane looking around and thinking of the possibilities where he might be.
Soon I was down several blocks but there was no sign of the troublemaker. There was hardly anyone out at this time and the streets were eerily dark and quiet with dim streetlights. I shoved my hands in my pockets walking, a sense of fear and panic filling within me.
I went to the convenience store which he frequent visits.
I walked up to the counter and saw that Amy was at the shift. She was an old friend and very well knew Matt and his unpredictable behaviour.
"Hey Amy." I greet.
She was sorting out some stuff below and looks up hearing her name.
"Oh hey Cara!" She says blowing a strand of blonde hair off her face.
"Didn't your shift end in the evening?" I ask looking around.
"The guy at this shift bailed out so I had to fill in." She sighs. "And I need the extra cash to buy the latest dress I saw yesterday!" She tells and I give a short laugh.
"Ofcourse you do."
She laughs nodding.
"So what brings your great presence here?" She asks.
"I am looking for Matt. Did he come here?" I ask concern and hope seeping in my voice.
"I am afraid he didn't come here." She says frowning.
My heart drops and I run a hand through my hair.
"Okay." I whisper and turn around to go.
"Wait!" Amy calls suddenly and I turn around with a start.
"I did see a boy about his age going down the road but his back was facing me so I didn't see his face. It was about half an hour ago." She supplies and points down the road in the opposite direction.
How can I forget!
"Thank you!"
I run over to her giving her a hug and rush out of the store.
